A Ranma 1/2 fanfic inspired by the anime and manga created by Rumiko
Takahashi

There are days, he thought. Ranma squinted as he caught a glimpse of the
morning sun breaking through the clouds over the horizon. The first ray of
warmth striking his face was refreshing, thawing the icy coating of spring
frost of dawn that had covered him, in places where his makeshift bedsheet
could not. In fact, he wasn't laying on a bed either, but on a cold
earthian spread of roofing tiles, which had worn him out with uneasy comfort
throughout the night, made for a substitute.

"Ranma!" A shrill, both a cry and of desperate anger suddenly fell on his
numb ears. He cracked the stiffness of his neck as he tried to bring
himself up and awake, although his eyes where shut tight, he winced when he
heard his name again. Louder.

"Ranma, what in heaven's name are you doing here?!" The voice came in
louder, closer, rising from below those two stilts of a ladder had stunted
themselves on an edge on the roof. "Did you sleep here, ALL NIGHT?!!"
Akane's face was flustered. Climbing up to a flight or two, a crazy looking
mallet in tow, was exhausting...especially for...

"Akane, are you crazy or something?!!! " Ranma leapt towards Akane in panic
instict. He grabbed her hands, her arm... clutching her for dear life...
"You know you shouldn't..."

"What? Only coz I've got a big tummy that I can't enjoy the view of the
morning sun with you... oh, NO! Mister...especially today!"

She sat down with him. The mallet turned out to be... "Here, darling. I
bought up breakfast." a large bento box, shaped like a huge hammer. "We
have omelets.... courtesy of Kasumi.." a finger pressed on her lips, paused
her enunciation of the meal ahead...

"Don't talk..." Ranma lowered his hand and pointed it towards the faraway
mountains. "It's starting." He clutched her hands in a heartbeat. She
rested her head on his chest, warming both their bodies and soul.

The sun broke free, the clouds of the fading night were easily scattered and
pushed aside, bringing in the morning rise.

Ranma looked down, his eyes saw the light of his love reflecting in Akane's
eyes. He caught a silent pause, and said. "Happy anniversary, my love."
Akane smiled and bought her lips up to him. They kissed.

"I love you Ranma." Akane sighed. "Do you remember...when?"

"Huh?"

"Why is it that it's only in the early morning can we be all alone
together?" Akane smiled with a tought lingering around her face.

Ranma, chuckled. "Well, it's a good thing you, me and Kasumi are the only
ones awake at such an early time like this." He embraced her. "If we
didn't discover the early morning sunrise on our own, we'd probably never
get any time together alone on our own."

"Yeah," Akane braced up. "I guess we'll never get rid of all the pest in
our two families and friends." She laughed. "I can't believe we always
come up with that conclusion."

"Every single morning." Ranma laughed along.

"Shut up!!" "We're trying to get some more sleep!" Came all the racket
from below.

"Looks like they're up." Akane looked at Ranma as he dug into the breakfast
she and Kasumi had prepared. "Just like clockwork."

"Clockwork." Ranma winked in agreement. They both laughed.

"Shut up, you two! I need more beauty rest!" "You make too much noise!"
"Go get a room!!"

And that was how the Tendo dojo woke up every morning since... since...
well, you know perfectly well by now.

The End
