I have a better idea, IMHO. Cast Princess Safiri (from Osamu Tezuka's
"Ribbon no Kishi") as the "Prince". In this setting to be, Safiri's
cross-dressing disguise might serve exactly the same purpose as in her
original story: If she was a princess, she'd have to marry one of
Richelieu's (Kagato or whoever replaces him) cronies, opening the way
for the foul villain to take over the kingdom!
The "love story", in this case, would be more or less the reverse of
what you suggested - D'Artagnan (Ranma) wouldn't get along with her
arrogant "Prince" persona, but would end up falling in love when he
discovered Safiri's true identity.
