Actually, the language of the ancient Incan monkey god who whispers plot
ideas into my ear when I haven't had enough sleep has a simple, elegant,
and consistent system for handling time travel.
It doesn't translate very well though.

The Dragons are basically sentient incarnations of their
respective
elements, that have been around in various forms since long before
even
Silver Millenium's recorded history.
And the Golden Millenium?
Nobody knows. There were all kinds of wonky things going on with the
timestream when the Golden Millenium fell (part of why the Champions are
so paranoid about Pluto), and most of the Golden Millenium's records were
wiped out (along with most of what they described).
Until Metallia is completely free though, its still anyone's game.
