I have decided to discontinue this story.

It is yet possible that the story may go on, but if this is so, it will be
rewritten from the Prologue.  I have yet to make that determination.  For
now, though, the story should be considered terminated, and in its current
form at least it shall remain incomplete.  I will be removing it from my
website shortly, and will be asking those who have archived it elsewhere to
remove it as well.  I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

I am sure that there are some of you who will wonder why I have chosen to do
this.  The answer is both simple and complex.  The simple version I will
give here.  Anyone who wants to hear the more involved take on this can
email me privately, and I would be happy to discuss it with them.

Simply put, however, I have of recent times been reconsidering a great many
things in my life, my writing not the least of these.  As some of you may
already know, I am a Christian.  I have not always been the most devout, nor
have I always observed the tenets of my faith as closely as I know that I
should, and as such, some of my writing does not meet the standards to which
I am held by my beliefs.  More specifically, I have allowed my writing to
glorify behaviors which I know to be morally corrupt.  Aside from the fact
that this is, to me, a wrong that I have done, it has also made me a
hypocrite, in that I have claimed to believe one thing and acted in another
manner.

This can no longer be, and will no longer be.  I will not continue work on a
story which runs counter to my principles.  It is possible that I will
choose at some point to rewrite this story in such a manner as the elements
which cause me this difficulty have been removed.  It is something that I
would like to do, certainly... but I cannot be certain that I will have the
time, as other matters have been called to my attention which will require
my efforts.

I do not intend to abandon my other fanfiction works, at least for the
present.  If I change my mind on this, of course, I will let people know.

I do not wish to turn this into a religious debate on the list, so if you
have a response to this message, please send it to me via private email.  I
only said as much as I did here because I felt I owed to those who have read
this story over the four years in which it has developed an explantion for
why there will be no more of it.  Thank you to all of you who have taken the
time to read my writings, and especially to those who have commented upon
them.  I appreciate
this more than you know.
