Ok, my response on this

Riposte - For a shoujo fic, this got an AMAZING
response. I just don't believe it was viewed
according to the genre it was. It was not taken
into
account- shoujo writing is different than... other
anime writing, such as Ranma.

Counter: observe the item on C&C below, reviewers
are not gods, they are prone to view things
differently from the Author, it is the author's task
to share his / her view on things via the fic.

Parry: You are missing my point. This is not about
C&C- it's about shoujo! While I'm admittedly annoyed
about the KIND of C&C shoujo gets when it DOES get
C&C'ed, I'm even MORE annoyed about the general...
dislike the list has towards it, or so I feel.

Riposte- In no way did I diss C&C. I prefer hard
C&C;
I'll even take near flames, as long as it's not
personal. It is the misinterpretation that drives
me
NUTS. And shoujo fandom is so prone to it.

Counter: observe my case in point. Allyn took the
fic fusing Ranma 1/2 and Duke Nukem very seriously
particularly gun-handling, a fact which the author
did not intend to take consideration, thinking it to
be part of the flavour, ditto with Ranma 1/2 fics
that take the Neko-ken, Hammers appearing out of
nowhere and failed cures very, very seriously.
Stuff that Takahashi-sensei intended as humor.
Shojou isn't alone in that regard.

Parry: Agreed. I'm just saying shoujo seems PRONE to
it, moreso than most genres.

Ripost- Here I flat out disagree. Rarely have I
seen
a shoujo fanfic received as well as its
counterparts.
Is it because shoujo writers aren't as good? I
don't
believe so....

Counter: Shoujo doesn't have a big an audience as
mainstream. Supposed shoujo series such as those
featuring magical girls are usually followed for
their 'visual stimulation', the story is left as
background. I have seen several shoujo fics that
had good review. I recall a Marmalade Boy as well
as several Karekano and Love Hina fics that had
great reviews. If you feel discriminated against
then ok, you're free to feel that way. Maybe you
could do something about it by writing more shoujo
fanfics until the list is so immersed in them that
they become common, mainstream, accepted. But
that's my opinion only. I'm only suggesting a
course of action, I'm not telling you anything.

If you feel Shoujo-fanfics are being discriminated
against then think how Original Work authors feel?

PARRY: I've never understood how OC authors post on
this list, anyway.... change the names of an original
fic to japanese, and you call it "anime inspired". As
for inudating the list- I send about a fic a week....
I'm one of the more prolific writers... but sadly,
QUANTITY does not equal QUALITY...

Think about that won't you?

I've been stweing about this for two years.
