It would be more accurate to say it was a fusion of Cyberpunk and BGC.
The only problem is, I've never played Cyberpunk. I have, however,
played Shadowrun, and know the universe.
You've placed me in quite a bind here. On one hand, I love Shadowrun. On
the other, my loathing for BGC2040 is so great my skin starts to burn
off when exposed to an image of it on a TV or monitor. The original OAVs
will do that to some people :).
I did read it, tough, but I think the fusion aspect could be done better. The
fact that you take out all of SR's supernatural elements kinda makes
the whole story fall flat, IMHO. Fusing anything with Shadowrun is no
fun at all unless you keep the magic. It's one of its main
characteristics, and taking it out makes your setting just BGC2040 with
a few new names and with cyberware. This doesn't add much to a setting
that is already full of cyberpunk trappings.
