Subject: Re: [FFML] (BGC) (LEMON) Ressurection 1/9
Well, I might as well give you my two cents worth now...
First off, Ressurection isn't a lemon. As a matter of fact, I don't
think Revelations is either.
I've always believed that a Lemon is a fic with an explicity
described
scene with sexual overtones. Merely having Sylia and Priss walk
into
a bedroom together doesn't make it a lemon, neither does Priss
stepping out of a cryotube buck naked
Second, the previous parts of BGC Blues. Others who aren't as
familiar with your series may not understand that there's more parts
that happened before this. I realize that you posted your url on
Revelations 1/4, but you might want to consider putting the
Disclaimer
and url at the top of every part. (For those of you that missed the
url, the first parts of BGC Blues can be found at She-Hulk's
website,
http://www.shehulk.net ) It's a fantastic series, simply the best
fic
ever written on BGC (excluding crossovers) The author REALLY knows
her stuff.
Third, formatting. I believe. that the "=20" and "=3D" are caused by
cut-and-pasting HTML. I don't know for sure, so I could be wrong.
I
do know that it can be fixed if you're willing to go through an
extra
step. Save the post as a text document, then cut and paste to the
email body. This also gets rid of the oddly place carriage returns.
Now on with the good news!
=3DYes?=3D
<Why is there grass around my cryotube?>
To quote Samuel Beckett, "Oh boy."
BTW, what did wake Priss up? The cryotube sounds like it is still
functional.
<Oh.>
Proof that Priss has mellowed out some throughout Blues, the old
Priss
would have gone ballistic.
The sun was falling to her right and she began to make
camp
for=20
the night. Despite the fact that she could see perfectly well in
the
dark=20
with Arashi=92s help, Priss had decided that it would be more
prudent to=20
travel during the day. A nighttime encounter with a very large,=20
leopard-like cat had taught her that lesson as well as giving her
another=20
fur for her growing collection.
Cute.
<True, but answer me this: Almost 14000 years have
passed.
Looking=
=20
at the same amount of time from the era we left, a hell of a lot
of
things=
=20
happened. Civilizations rose and fell. Mankind expanded across the
world.=20
Technology advanced. But I look around and see absolutely no sign
of=20
anything like that. Surely there would be ruins of some type?>
One difference between the two eras: the type of competition.
Boomers
of any level could "un"build Rome in a day. :-)
The man was well over six feet tall, and from the size of
his arms=
=20
and the numerous scars on his face and body, Priss concluded that
if
he=20
wasn=92t the boss then it wasn=92t for lack of trying. <Oh boy.
Please work=
=20
quickly Arashi. I really don=92t want to piss this guy off.>
This puzzles me. She kills Catzilla, but she doesn't like the odds
of
going against an unenhanced, unarmed human-being?
=3DYou do realize that the land masses could have
radically=
altered?=3D
Sorry, not in 14000 years. Ice ages yes, but the effects of plate
tectonics wouldn't show up for millions of years.
=93The Overlords walked the earth, leaving ruin in their
wake. They=
=20
were shaped like us but made of metal and had terrible strength
and=20
powers.=94 Shamas, the leader of the Bear tribe, paused his eyes
cloudy. =93=
So=20
much was destroyed by their hands. Fields burned, homes crushed or
torched.=
=20
Only structures like you see around you were allowed to stand.
They
ruled=20
the people and used them for their amusement.=94
Priss kept her expression neutral. (Boomers, of all the
things=20
that had to survive.)
Powered by Energizer. They keep going and going and going ...
Arashi began to bring Priss out of the coma state she had
been in=
=20
for the last 16 hours and continued to repair the damage caused
by
the=20
venom. As she worked, she realized that she could hear drums
through
Priss=
=92=20
ears. The sounded low and mournful. =3DSounds like a funeral.=3D
Sixteen hour coma? In spite of nanobots? That is one MEAN snake!
All in all, the rest of this fic is great. It's nice to know the
Boomers got hit just hard as humanity was. Seeing the Boomer get
taken out by Stone Age weaponry was priceless.
Just out of curiousity, are you planning on any places being a
little
more advance than what Priss has already seen?
