Why do so many people writing vampire stories assume that ultra-violet
light is sufficiently like sunlight to destroy vampires? Indeed, it
would make more sense for natural sunlight to carry with it some kind of
*mystical* energy (ki or magic or whatever), and that energy is
disruptive to the energies which animate the undead.

This of course would mean that a ki blast or battle aura (even a really
weak one, since sunlight presumably only has a tiny bit of ki in it)
would be sufficient to turn any vampire to ash. Even being on the
fringes of a ki blast would fry a vamp. Even the *light* of the ki
blast would have a similar as sunlight.

I wonder if Happosai's "happodaikarin" bombs are ordinary firecrackers,
or made of ki? If they're ki, then they would be quite effective
against vampires. Especially consider that Happi can make special
versions of it (see vol 14 part 11)... I'm sure that he could make one
especailly designed for killing vampires. And unlit Happodakarins, with
a timer or remote control or motion/impact sensor attached to the fuses,
might also be useful somehow.

Hmm, pencils in a gun? Seems silly -- surely the only requirement for
"staking" a vampire is that you get something made of wood into the
fellow's heart -- I don't see any especial reason that it has to be long
and pointy, except to make it easier to get it into the vamp if you're
putting them in by hand. It would make more sense to simply make wooden
bullets (bullet-shaped bullets, which are slightly pointy, but not
especially long and stake-like), and rely on the speed of their coming
out of the gun to get it into the vampire. By making them the same size
and shape as normal bullets, you could have the same kind of firing rate
and reload time as with normal bullets.

Akane being the only user of a mallet is a fanfiction cliche... almost
everyone uses mallets now and then (especially in the manga... in the
anime, Akane does it *slightly* more often than other people, I think).
Plus, it would be a bit awkward/silly to carve the head of a mallet into
a stake... the handle, maybe, but not the head (too short to start with,
and too great a diameter, which means you'd have to remove alot of wood)

I would expect Akane to be wielding a botoku.

So there's any number of ways for the Nerima Wrecking Crew to be killing
vampires... but most of those ways are different from what you've
suggested.
