mildly, giving no indication that she disagreed ( in principle)
with the thought.

 
[POV finally set with Akane. 

Wait a minute. Why is that? Doesn't "giving no indication" say that we
might be seeing her from the outside only? Or do the words "in
principle" contradict that?
I'm asking because I don't think we have seen anything from Akane's
point of view in this story so far. I may be wrong, but I can't recall
any passage that gets inside her head. 
So if you're right, either it's a new element in the story, or it's
something that Allyn should re-word, I think.
