i donnot about fearing that sucumbing.. Fear might not be the 
right word..

The way they act (Urd and her mother) it seems more like the
typical mother daughter adversarial relationship.. just kicked 
up a few notches..
and that Urd takes pride in her goddess half.. wanting to not be 
anything like her mother ( as she sees it).. Urd nad her mother 
are very simular in many ways.. and I think that that is why 
they don't get along.

I was thinking of the nightmare she had after the Lord of Terror
transferred to Fenrir. For a while there she believed that she 
had lost her soul to her dark side, and that terrified her.
