Too bad I don't have time to work on any of these... I'm mainly just doing
this to get them out of my head to concentreate on Bubblegum Disaster. If
anyone does want to try one, feel free. Titles added after the fact.


Bubblegum Moon: Armada
You know, for a BGC/Sailor Moon crossover, Cynthia would be a good swapout
for Hotaru, if you made her a 'borged orphan instead of a straight buma.
The Sabers are kind of a tricky match for Senshi, thoguh... Minako for
Sylia I could kind of see, if you're willing to accept 2040-level
boychasing from her, Linna works quite well as Makoto, Priss as Haruka with
motorcycles instead of cars, but Nene is too bouncy to be either Amy or
Micheru, and too skilled to be Usagi. Priss could be Rei too, but we don't
see her not getting along with much of anyone except Leon, who's about as
effective as Tuxedo Mask but otherwise all wrong. If anything, Daley the
flamboyantly gay is the best direct match for Mamoru... does that make Leon
Usagi? He does execute the finishing attack on Largo... I guess this leaves
Mackie to be two cats and a spore, and Silvie and Anri to be Haruka and
Micheru, but the real questionis where's Setsuna? Fargo maybe, excepot that
he never, ever takes a hand in the fighting, while Pluto is there
sporadically... The villains don't really match up at all, beyond looking
human until they go to battle forms. Making it into a three-way crossover
with the new Transformers series could work, though - instead of lame
sports equipment, the Minicons awakened by humans become hardsuits, while
sexaroids get battle bikinis and bigger powers than the humans, and full-on
buma get blown up to Cybertornian size and strength, like a Pretender from
the Japanese G1 show. MAckie can stick to being a spore, while the autobots
play moon cat and Megatron is the shady ubervillain backing Largo.

Johnny's Neon Evangelion
Another US/Japaese crossover i think would be a hoot would be substituting
Johnny Bravo for Sir Shinji the Spineless in Evagelion (Hoo! HAH!) - just
as utterly ineffective outside of battle in the opposite way (Man, I'm
pretty), maybe with the combat genius and ruthlessness of
shinji-plus-momma, maybe not... but Johnny's momma is a tough old battleaxe
(Don't you dare aly a finger on my Johnny, you big ugly sea creature!), so
I'd expect EVA-1 would still be as effective, no matter which loser is
driving in this case (WhoooOOOOOAAAAA! Where's the steerin' wheel on this
thing!?). The trouble would be where to put Corl, I think (It's a simple
matter of boosting the polarity of the neutron flow with a properly modifed
AT field! See, it's core just lost all power!) - he's too enthusiastic for
Rei and too good-natured for Asuka, so that pretty much leaves Toji or
Kensuke, depending on whether he's to be a pilot or not... (No. Oh come on
Johnny, I love giant robots! No Carl, you can't be a pilot!) since Carl is
the one who's competent at absolutely everything except not looking like a
geek, Kensuke seems the better choice... or maybe Big Gay Kaoru, if you
were going to drop him in early enough to be a major/recurring character
(CARL! You scared me there for a sec, tohuhgt you were tryin'ta come on to
me or somethin'... Carl? Carl!? ... momma...). Pops as Gendo would be a
MAJOR laugh, but he might be better added without replacing anyone, since
he's not handsome enough to be Kaji but he's the one Johnny always goes to
for advice. (Clams on a stick! Get'cher clams on a stick! Get em while
they're clams!) Asuka could actually stay, as the Generic Redhead who
mangles Johnny pretty much whenever he talks to her (Sassy!) - it's
basically the same as I'd expect from her anyway, unless what she's looking
for in a man is smarm (Kaji, anyone?) in which case she'll be all over
Johnny (Chicks dig the hair. Hah! Hoo! Yeah!). Heh, here we go - the
universe has been reset, because God thought it was too dang whiny and
depressing the way it orignally turned out, and Rei is the only one who
knows, so we follow it through her eyes. (This won't end well...)

Slayers EXCEL
Slayers and Excel Saga... Lina would do well enough as Excel, thoguh I
think Amelia would do it even better, espescially if you put in Zelgadis as
Lord Ilpallazzo. Matchups otherwise are harder in this... Sylphiel is
soft-spoken enough to be Hyatt, but doesn't have the anemia and life
draining problems ANaga as a very short cameo to be Tetchan makes enough
sense, while Goiurry would have to be either Space Butler or Nabushin, and
Lina the other, whichever one it takes... she's a pretty poor match for
anyone in the series as far as I've seen it, actually, unless she's the
girl at the end of ep four or five who rescues Nabushin and spooks him with
her cooking - with only the one scene, she hasn't had enough deverlopemnt
to see. Xeloss... probably best as the roommates-from-hell who the slacker
guy I've forgotten the name of can't get to stop following him around. The
Great Will of the Macrocosm might make a good Xelloss replacement, though
I'd be leery of giving him that much power... It's a trickier combination.

Bastard Pair!!
the Dirty Pair and Bastard!! anime seems straightforward, on the other hand
- just figure that the world of Bastard!! was a colony lost four hundred
years ago during a revolution or plain old war, recently rediscovered, and
the army of the Four Riders took out the exploration team that found it.
The company sponsoring them calles the WWWA to recover them and or their
data, mentions the level of mass destruction noted in the one partial
report they got, and the Lovely Angels are on the job, pitting technology
against magic as they learn of the ancient war machine Anthathax being
present on the world and in danger of reactivation - obviously anyone who
would want such a thing is a criminal! The Arshes Nei/???/princess/Darshu
love triangle gets worse still with Kei and Yuri added... Kei just HAS to
figure out how to use this magic stuff... it's like a personal beam cannon
that never needs to be hooked up to a fusion generator to charge... Dark
Schneider might well want to get off that rock, since he's old enough to
remember the time before the colony was cut off... ooh! I know! He's still
on the books as a criminal, leader of the revolution underway when contact
was lost! And they don't know until alte in the game! Heh...

Shinesman 1/2
Ranma and the Shinesman anime would have to start from a slightly divergent
Ranma setting, where neither Happosai nor the Amazons were invoplved at
their usual points - instead, Cologne and Shampoo came to Japan to put the
Shamps into school, so she could learn to manage the tribe's assets in the
modern world. Akane, Ukyo, and Cologne all got hit with the Number of Years
Mushrooms, but Cologne knew a secret technique to rapidly age herself back
to adulthood, the return of youthful vigor somewhat making up for the loss
of status as an elder, particularly since she still has an elder's
knowledge and skills. The remaining mushrooms are destroyed thanks to
Ranma, and Soun kicks him out for good - but without the impetus of teenage
hrmones in the way, Akane developes a sister/brother relationship with him
and runs away, then makes him promise he won't tell on her. Cologne takes a
position at the secretly Amazon-owned Right Trading company and Konatsu
ends up there too cooincidentally, taking care of Ukyo on the side with the
alibi that sh'es his daughter-  though it makes the kunoichi rather
uncomfortable, 'she' 'crossdresses' as a man to get a better position.
Foreward four or five years. Ranma has gotten out from under the thumb of
his father, and while he still practises the Art like a fish practises
swimming, he's also determined that he's going to do his level best to make
Genma turn plaid in frustration, so he's been through colledge and also...
gets a job at Right Trading! Shampoo is already there, and while iot might
be harder to justify, Ryoga would make a good Shinesman Grey, as long as
his directional problem doesn't apply when driving his beloved SUV. Why do
you think he loves it so much, anyway? Konatsu is Shinesman Sepia, Shamps
is Slamon Pink, Ranma is Shinesman Red; all that would be needed is finding
a Shinesman Moss Green... the character design would say Kunop, but Kuno is
already so rich he doesn't have to work. Mousse maybe? If he got corrective
surgery for his vision, perhaps... He is at least intelligent enough for
the spot, which puts him ahead of just about anyone else on the Ranma cast.
The aliens from Voice get replaced by Pheonix People, Saffron as the prine
naturally, and Kiima as Sheena, who, of course, as a new female role gets
engaged to Ranma by her people's odd laws before her first appearance is
up. Cologne is the leader of the Shinesman team, and being that she's back
to under ten years of age difference is gunning for Ranma herself, Akane is
out of the picture having permanently adopted the Big Brother Ranma, and
Ukyo got hit really bad - she's about the equivalent of a five-year-old
even now. Shampoo has absorbed outsider culture so much that she's not just
looking for a warrior, but could well be interested in Ranma... except that
it's all too obvious her great grandmother is too, and she's smart enoguh
not to get in the way. Basic plot follows Shinesman, the Pheoniox People
wanting to take over the planet and using standard sentai villain tactics,
the Shinesmen whooping up on their stupid monsters with even stupider
names. It could work, but the trouble would be where to go with it, since
the anime never went beyond two episodes as far as I know, and ,the manga
was different according to what little I can find on it. Perhaps the old
gag of having the enemy defeated and the heroes move in to rule them and
return them to benevolence and freedom, yadda ya...
