I'm going to start by responding to TH's comments, as
I consider them to be most urgently problematic with
my story.

I am most definitely not using Futaba as an avatar of
myself. I just consider Futaba's emotions perhaps the
least obvious and most identifiable, if that makes
sense, of any character's. I'm violently against SI
fics :p

I agree that I managed to accent Akane on purpose, but
some of that is Futaba's bias, and some of that's the
fact that Akane just plain doesn't like Ranma. ^_^

Akane's trust isn't Ranma's problem. The fact that
Akane's a violent tomboy is :p

I apologize for making Ukyo sound more biased than she
must be in your eyes, but never have I seen her show
any  truly positive emotion towards Akane. It usually
just doesn't happen. Ukyo sees Akane, at Ukyo's
insertion, as an obstacle to marraige with Ranma, and
feels the same way as Shampoo, but with lesser
convition. In other words, Ukyo, in my opinion, cares
more that Akane is threatening Ranma's
happiness/Ukyo's happiness with Ranma. In my eye, this
means that when somebody who has potential
fiancee-ness with Ranma (IE: any female) shows up and
Ukyo's decided on Konatsu then Ukyo would attempt to
push Ranma towards that person. Oh crap...this hasn't
happened in my fic yet ^_^''

Anyway!! The 'lecherous Konatsu' comment was more
meant to be a facetious comment by Ukyo. That wasn't
made clear enough by yours truly, in fact it wasn't
made clear at all. It's just the way I pictured it
:p....so I'll fix it ^_^


As to the idea of Futaba starting at the start of the
Ranma arc, that interests me, but if I do that, which
I'm very much considering, I will do it from maybe a
week or two before I have  it starting now, and
perhaps have Futaba get slightly acquainted with
Furinkan before the #### hits the fan. I have to think
before doing something like this, though, and, if I
did it, it would propably be something along the lines
of simply adding a  page or three near the top of the
first chapter.

The fic starts shortly after the Konatsu incident in
Ranma manga cannon, I don't recall if Ryuugenzawa was
before or after this or not, but let's pretend it's
after, or say Anime cannon, in which it doesn't happen
until OAV ^_^


on to David's comments:

"Ukyo would _never_ refer to Akane as "that bitch". 
To do so would be in distinct conflict with her
pleasant persona.  That sounds like authorial bias
using her as a mouthpiece.  Remember, Ukyo is the
_cute_ fiancee, and normally acts like it."

Actually, Ukyo's sighted swearing numerous times in
the   Anime and Manga, and she really puts on the
pretty face for the sake of Ranma, and, in most other
ways, is his female mirror image in personality, minus
a whole lot of skill :p

As to the other half of your mail, David, I see your
point and will rewrite that part.

Bryan: This is before the Nodoka finds out, but after
Konatsu...I really, really hope I'm getting this in
the right order. Konatsu was after Nodoka, right!?


Thryth...interesting idea ^_^'' 'The Matchmaker' in
this story is actually Futaba, though. I callwed the
fic that because my plans accidentally paralleled the
plot of the  film by the same name, I think. If you
can think of a better name, please tell me because I
think 'the matchmaker' will only cover about the first
half of the fic!
