But, if you think about it, Jadeite had to have done it once or twice. His
youma couldn't be trusted not to draw attention to themselves. Neither can
Cobalt, for that matter, but-- Anyway, there were a few episodes of the
first season where *somebody* had to set up a store front for the Dark
Kingdom. This is a silly take on how that happened, but a good one, I
think.

What, Jed? Dirty his hands with manual labor? C'mon! He'd just look in
the Yellow Pages (they have those in Tokyo, don't they?) and contract out.
(it *is* a funny image, though)

    CONTRACTOR: "Now, Mr...Ite?"
JADEITE: "Jadeite. No 'Mr.' One name...you know, like Madonna."
C: "Ah...well, then, Mr -- er, Jadeite, being paid in incut gemstones
*is* rather unusual, but with a slight discount for the irregularity, we can
handle it. But this clause in your contract proposal about the penalties for
failure to meet deadline...er--"
J: "What? Defenestrationary impalement is standard punishment for that
kind of failure!"
C: "Ah...what country did you say you came from, again?"
    J: "Berylstan."
C: "Oh, one of those former USSR holdings. That explains a few things."
