I, too, had some reservations to this.  Yes, Ranma went easy on her, in

the

same light as when he allows Akane to mallet him every time.  He's good
enough
that he normally wouldn't let such an attack through.  After all, he's
trained
in Anything Goes... wouldn't that cover below-the-belt sneak attacks as
well?

Well, just because you can be trained to defend a blow doesn't mean you'll
block it every time, do keep in mind.

I really hope he doesn't let the fact he was defeated so easily go for too
long.
After all, this is a guy who doesn't let his losses go; he learns from his
mistakes and wins in the rematch.

Oh no. He'll want to avenge it. If anything, he's by far the poorest loser
in the series. However Kachi's also an unknown quality as well, so whatever
happens it won't be easy. And besides, if it was, it wouldn't be fun too
read. Having a general suspicion of how things will go is one thing, but
complete predictiblity is boring. Ideally I'd like to keep the reader
guessing as to what will happen next and help maintain interest.

Despite my reservations, I understand your reasons for the fight to go as

it

did.
I look forward to seeing how this story plays out.
