Hey, I bought it. ^_~
That's the fun thing about fantasy worlds: even if they're anchored
somewere in reality, there's a lot of leeway as to where that anchor
sits.
> And Belldandy's... the exception that proves the rule! ^_^
So... would this make Kasumi an exception as well? I wouldn't necessarily
consider her a minor character. Plus, she's pretty important, as without
her, the Tendo home would be forced to eat (blecch!) Akane's cooking. ^_^
Well, she's up there in major characters, but she's not exactly a title
character... So, she is playing sort of a minor role in the series. I mean,
Akane and Ranma generally take center stage. And the others, of
course.
*sees a certain tomboy approaching fast with her 20-ton mallet and runs*
Funny thing, too: If I were to compare Akane to Narusegawa, I'd guess that
there would be comparable levels of violence...
But here, we don't have Akane, nor a lot of the normal engaged characters...
What we've got so far is Rei, and she, while more reactive than some of
the rest of the SM crew, is hardly very violent.
So, who's going to end up with who?
Beats me. Ranma's technically engaged to the whole Tendo clan, so
it could end up in any proportion. Depends what makes it funny when
the series ends.

Are we going to get to see why Genma is so afraid of s-s-squirrels?
In the later sections, it should become rather obvious, but I'll be
sure to toss in the odd Weird Al-style scene later on, if necessary.
Even if we're not making Ranma's cat-fear dark this time, there's
always Genma's fear of squirrels. ^_^

Though I admit, it'd be interesting to see Ranma face off with Vader.
He'd get hauled off to detention. ^_-
He
probably wouldn't be much of a match here, but I wonder how Ranma, the
Saffron-killer, would fare.
Ranma the Saffron killer. That's an interesting thing there. I did manage
to read that arc of the Ranma series (oddly enough. found a scanned
manga somewhere). And... Ranma didn't overpower Saffron. Nope, he
didn't. He didn't become an all-powerful, godlike fighter that could beat
an all-powerful, godlike fighter such as Saffron.
Ranma won by the skin of his teeth, barely, by using a nifty plot
device and ki-attack that just _barely_ managed to punch through
a chink in Saffron's metaphoric armor.
Oh, he was an excellent fighter to have thought of it. Very skilled.
Very lucky. Needed help from Akane to do it, too. But as powerful
as he was, he's nowhere near the type of what people make
him out to be in general fan fiction.
So, in this series, where practically everyone else and their kitty's
got ki attacks, Ranma's fiercely outclassed by a lot of them. At
first. He's got a good learning curve, so the situation won't stay
that way.
Still, nobody likes seeing a hyper-powered attack before the
one using it's taken his lumps. (It's like eating vegetables, you
see.)
Just look at Shinji in NGE, episode 2. He took his lumps. BOY,
did he take his lumps. ^_^;;; And he made a very strong berserker
comeback. And even if it wasn't him that was doing it, hey, it
was cool! ^_-
So, Ranma'll take his lumps and THEN come up with a really
nifty attack.
ArbyFish: 'Ere, take ya lumps. Hoigh in foibah! (holds out a bowl)

O.o I have this. It's actually kinda funny, especially where Grey is so
obsessed with his SUV. ^_^
That's the sort of humor I like to see: Blatant and smashing past the
cliches at 100 miles per hour!
You can't just inch over the boundaries and be funny... I heard that
in a recent conversation and I'm already liking it. Go figure. ^_^
