As stated in the FAQ, personal abuse is not allowed on the FFML. You can
attack a posted fanfic as strongly as you feel it deserves, but when you
switch to attacks and name-calling against the author, that's another
matter.

Case in point:

dragonjex@juno.com wrote:

<I don't know what you intended for this fic to improve... but this is a
crock of
shit to me. Bad enough we still have racism in these parts, but making a

mockery of race worse enough.>

This is directed at the fanfic, rather than the author, which means that
it's not a problem for the list.

<I have to say this, I really frigging hate your guts for this man.
Really, this peice
is a crock of shit and only does to add insult and promote prejudice and
racism.
You absolutely have no respect for other people. No, black men are not
just
>from the south, speak broken slang english, and eat fried chicken. No,
what you
have just written was presented to make you look like an asshole.>

This, however, crosses the line into being a personal flame.

<Lamer, don't mention Gary Kleppe's name. Even he's got more dignity
than
you are. He wouldn't write a piece of shit like this.>

Ahem. ^_^;; Only comment I'll make here is that "lamer" is also a
personal attack.

Let me emphasize that whether someone deserves to be flamed is not the
issue. The issue is that flames, deserved or otherwise, are against the
list rules. If you feel the need to get personal, take it to private
mail, or to the ffml-admins address if you want to call our attention to
a possible violation of the list rules.

dragonjex@juno.com is tempbanned for one week. Comments on this story
are still welcome. As always, please direct any comments, questions, or
complaints to <ffml-admins@anifics.com>.
