If your story is deviating at the very beginning of the Ranma storyline,
the only thing he'd really be wishing is to be the greatest martial

has gotten him into (not both - that'd be _two_ wishes). If he wished to
be rid of the engagement, much mayhem would ensue but it would still
turn out all right at the end, since this is a wish granted by the
forces of good.

Actually, I have the perfect wish that could set this up...

"Ya know, Belldandy, if I'm gonna be stuck with a fiancee, I wish it was
someone like you and not some violent tomboy..."

"Wish Granted... I guess I'm your fiancee."

"Ah, shit..."

I can see it happen.

Also, the bit about Keiichi with Kasumi:
I think it would be interesting to see.  Not because it would match up
Keiichi with someone other than Belldandy (although the fanfic convention
of Kasumi virtually being a mortal version of Belldandy almost makes it a
moot point) 

It's not just a fanfic confiction.  Kasumi is Belldandy without the hard
edges.  

but because we can then get a contrasting view of their lives.

Ranma and Belldandy's lives with their inherent chaos and
super-natural/para-natural friends/allies/enemies/rivals as opposed to
Keiichi and Kasumi's mundanely peaceful lives.

And meanwhile in Keiichi's life...he was eating a delicious lunch.  Now,
back to the story.
