He is correct, though.  An elipsis is not a valid ending mark.  Thus, to end a sentance, you need to append a period to that ellipsis.  This results in a fourth dot.  (I am aware that few people actually do this.  Nevertheless, this is what is correct.)

Of course, technically, there should be a space before and after each dot of an ellipsis.

Thus, what you have as ... should be . . . .

However, in a medium that tends to introduce line breaks at random, such ellipses are often split over two lines, which just looks bad.
