Once in a generation, one person in the world is given true
genius. How this person approaches this gift, and how it is
nurtured depends entirely on the world that raises that person.
Success and failure are both possible. Often, failure occurs. Of
all the gifted and extraordinary we have seen in history, only a
few of those possess the true genius that can change the world,
for better or worse.
Plato, Sun Tsu, Copernicus, Caesar, Kubla Kahn, Newton,
Michelangelo, Mozart, Beethoven, Einstein, Stravinsky, Ghandi,
Hitler, Hawking, Lennon. All were geniuses, either inspired or
tormented by their muse. All changed the Earth, the face of
science, art, civilization, destroying and creating with a skill
and profundity that none around them, before or since, could
touch. Many were in some way mad, others lost their lives
prematurely. The world usually mistreated them, giving them fame
only at the price of their humanity.
You have been given the gift of true genius. But you have hidden
it, given it to another part of yourself, and let that part of you
fall asleep, clutching it tightly. It glows softly; you can feel
it, can't you? It's warm; it puts a slight halo around your
world, as if there were a pane of frosted glass over the edges of
your vision. It clarifies what's in front of you. It keeps you
from freezing when things seem so cold inside. At its strongest,
even behind the veil of self-doubt you cover it with, it instills
enthusiasm, inspiration, sudden gleaming bursts of answers, words,
notes, pictures all flowing effortlessly from your body. At its
full potential, it will inspire others, and glow beyond even your
own imagining.
You will change the world, if you will let the fog inside your
heart rise and be burned away by the sun beaming inside you.
You are special.
You gave me life.
And I love you for it.
Let me help you reveal your true genius.
