"You... you would do that... with Keitaro?"

Why does Motoko jump so quickly to the conclusion that Ranma is offering
to sleep with Keitaro?
I won't ask why Ranma hasn't caught on to what she's really asking,
since misunderstandings like this are great for humor and for making
sure that people continue to think of him as a pervert :)
Hmm... did this particular kind of mix up occur much in canon, or is it
purely from fanfics? (/me thinks of "Crossed Wires" and "Mixed
Signals")
Well, Ranma 1/2 is a sex comedy, though it tended to veer away from
jokes like this one in particular, mostly. The exception to that
would probably be Akane evesdropping on Ranma and Ukyou during the
Gambling King arc.
Goldenboy is a series with at least ONE character who's got FAR too
much of an overractive imagination. :p
For Love Hina, I think this is par for the course. How many times
have they misdiagnosed one another's action? Like when Mitsune
decided that Shinobu was running off to kill Keitaro in the anime,
or when she thought that Naru was runnong off to kill herself at
another point.... These misunderstandings are all over the place, there.
So.... I guess it's got some small basis in canon. :p
If you're not sure, I can recomend reading the manga for Ranma 1/2
and Love Hina, and watching the anime for Goldenboy -- it's great. ;)
