Since you are taking a word that, theoretically, started in Chinese, was
translated into Japanese and then transliterated into English, you can do
pretty much what you want as long as it is consistant.

As for Xian Po -vs- Xian Chi, I haven't had any trouble telling them apart;
especially since I don't think they have appeared together yet.  It did
make me wonder if they were related though, but a common family name
or first part of a personal name doesn't make them related.

rather funny as I'm responding to this email while listening to the LOTR

I started using it in several mutual help mail lists I participate in.=20
