You make it sound like he WANTS her as a fiance.
Er... no. It's just that most of the more colorful girls who he tends to meet
end up being engaged or after him in some way. So he kinda expects it at this
point. Might be a funny spamfic, actually, Ranma going to college or some
other place with lots of new girls, then just sitting down and watching them
all walk by. "Hmm... that one is close. Probably a wanna-be or somebody Pops
ripped the parents off or something. That girl, though... definitely a
fiancee. The pink-haired girl next to her, too..."
The problem is, this is fanfiction cliche, and not true to the manga. He's got
Akane and Ukyo, engaged to him by his father, Shampoo and Kodachi, whom
he never refers to as fiancees, and that's it. He doesn't get engaged to anyone else,
or even come close to it, or even think about it. Not to Mariko, or Pink and Link,
or Akari, or Asuka, or Rouge, or Kiima.... None of them even pursue him with
romantic intentions. Pursue him wanting to kill him, maybe. On a related note,
although Ranma IS good-looking, he isn't drop-dead gorgeous, as we know
from the Asuka story, where we meet a guy who IS. Nor are Ranma and
Ryoga particularly tall - both are definitely under six feet tall - nor, despite
their superhuman strength, are they bulging with muscles, to cite some other
cliches that so often pop up, especially in cross-over fics.
