I just remembered something. In a chapter yet to be published by Dark Horse,
(The Big Empty Room, Brian) Keiichi and Belldandy are trapped in a void.
Skuld says it might be seven days before the two of them can get out, Urd
replies that while it's no problem for Belldandy but Keiichi might not
survive.
I think that pretty much implies that goddesses don't need food or water to
survive.

What that means for your story Thermopyle, is that only Keiichi needs to be
eating in the dinner scene and Belldandy doesn't need to resume normal size
just to eat.

Eh... true, but I don't think that, if they weren't eating, Urd and Skuld
would have showed up for the meal.  I can't see either of them bothering to go
and watch Keiichi chew on dead stuff.  But I could see Belldandy expecting
them to eat with Keiichi out of politeness, if nothing else, though, even if
they don't actually need the food themselves.

While they may not need to eat, there is no reason to believe that they don't
anyway.  If I went with the route that they don't eat, then I'd also be
inclined to write in that they don't sleep, since it's the logical next step.
Unless they've been shown to sleep?  I know Belldandy does, but since that's
her secondary power source, she doesn't count.  Have Urd or Skuld ever been
demonstrated to do so at any time?  Why would a goddess need sleep, but not
food or drink?

If nothing else, I'm sure Belldandy has to taste the food she makes for
Keiichi, to check the taste as she is preparing it.  Unless she just fixes it
with magic, anyway.  ^_^;

So... I think I'll probably leave this as-is, because it really doesn't hurt
anything.  I really don't want to have to rewrite this whole scene for
something that isn't shown in a definite way and doesn't make an actual
difference to how the story goes.
