Well, I'll give you this comment, and you can take it as you will:
I'd rather see more of this than your other fic. Not that the R/N one's
bad, this one is just much more interesting to me. Very well done - one
of your more polished pieces, IMO.

Wow, thanks. I don't think I've ever gotten a response to something this
quickly, and this is one of the longer things I've posted. Bit of a surprise.
^_^
The reason I'm trying to finish the Ranma/Noir crossover first, or at least
the first arc, anyway, isn't because it's the most interesting story for me.
Most of the other fics I've started on, I didn't have a very concrete idea of
where I was going with the story, including this one. I'll get an idea, write
until I realize that the idea can't progress the way I had originally
intended, because I've realized a flaw in the storyline or that something
about it wasn't really keeping me satisfied, and then I'll sit down and write
nothing while trying to think of a way to fix the problem. While
brainstorming, a completely new idea will come to me, and I'll start on that,
instead--and promptly repeat the problem. I do have a much better idea of
what I want to happen in the Ranma/Noir fic, however, and I know exactly how I
want this arc to end, so I'm trying to keep at it so I can finally finish
something I've started.
Since I've started on that fic, I've come up with a number of other ideas that
I have plotted out fairly extensively all the way to the end, with a lot more
detail than the outline for the Ranma/Noir fic. Some of them I'm a lot more
interested in than the Ranma/Noir story, too. My Ranma/MKR/Rayearth and
Ranma/DNA^2 ideas I am particularly wanting to get to... but I'm not going to
write them yet. I've got over 160 pages of unfinished stories on my page, and
I really feel that if I don't pick a story and stick to it until its
completion, I'm never going to be able to finish anything. That'd be a real
shame, because an incomplete fic, no matter how good it is, is never more than
a disappointment if not finished at some point.
So, I've already picked the Ranma/Noir fic, the first arc, anyway, as what I'm
going to finish first. It's a pretty substantial amount of story and might
end up being as long as everything else I've written in the past year (and
thus my whole life ^_^) before I finish. Hopefully it won't take that long to
write, though, assuming I can actually stick to it. Once I'm done with the
first arc, I'll move back to Young At Heart, although I can't guarantee that
it will be the first thing I work on afterwards. I do intend to finish all of
the fics I've started, eventually. ^_^;
I do hope that I can get back to this fic soon. Maybe if I manage to write
the Ranma/Noir fic regularly enough that I feel I can stick to it despite
distraction, I'll try working on one other story at the same time. We'll see.
Anyway, thanks for commenting! :)
