Just one note: This episode deals with certain cultural
aspects of Lakota life that may appear a bit barbaric to
those of us who've grown up in 'white' society. I cannot
claim to be an expert, few outsiders can. I only hope
I have not offended the Lakota people or misrepresented
their rituals or culture in a way that would be
embarrassing to them.
All cultures have ways of dealing with situations like grief that seem odd
to outsiders.
One interesting thing is that now they have two people with some amount of
shaman training, Liz and Kay. It might be interesting to see how they
interact since Liz still has plenty of shadows of her own to deal with.

"He has a team standing by." Nancy squinted towards the
gate straddling the rail line, trying to determine if the three
men lounging about were really there to open the gate or just
goofing off. Judging by their MP5's, it was probably the former.
Their weapons suggested that Foley's men weren't taking any
chances with a twenty foot breach in the fence - intentional or
not.
If they are really worried, they should have sent out a patrol to check the
area around the opening. Considering the situation with the local
government, it would have been a good idea.
I keep thinking of the Trojan Horse. My main question is whether the
greeks were inserted in Yellowstone or during one of the delays along the
way. Jeff is smart to not want the train inside the wire after dark. I'd
also want a thorough inspection of each container before allowing it
inside. Apparently this shipment wasn't spiked, but I would expect an
attempt sometime.
"Yes, Mother had taught me everything she knew and she was
the best. I'm told that's what attracted Father to her in the
first place. Anyway, they asked Jeffrey to present my prize, a
really nice Star quilt. I think Father put him up to it - the
old matchmaker. Still, I have to admit, Jeffrey looked so
handsome and I was so nervous that I couldn't bring myself to do
more than glance at him. I must have been blushing the whole
time. My hands shook so badly that when he handed me the quilt I
almost dropped it. As I left the dance circle, I could hear the
other women whispering. [[I could tell he was]] because Jeffrey was
still watching me as I walked towards the dressing tent. I was
so scared of his attention that I almost stayed there the rest of
the evening. I had no experience with men in that way. Ellen
finally convinced me to go see him. She was right, I would have
been sorry if I didn't at least talk to him.
I don't know who 'he' is inside the [[]].
I hope someone is doing something with the young boys, too. They need
socialization even more than the girls do.
Sitting with her back to the wall, she placed her mug on the
table and fished out a handful of credit notes and coins. "Hope
I got enough," she said innocently.
Butter wouldn't melt in her mouth. If she's pumping for information,
though, I wouldn't expect her to win much. She ought to be able to expense
whatever she decides to lose.
It will be very interesting to see how Jeff deals with the GMP presense.
It might not have been practical this time, but the next GMP visitors
should disappear without a trace vehicle and all.
