Hi all, I'm starting a new Next Generation RPG...this
one has a little bit of a twist...
It's set in the fanfiction world of Chris Jones: "The
Virus"

Here is the basic premise...thanks to Mihoshi
interrupting one of Washu's experiments, a virus was
unleashed that, after encountering Ranma Saotome,
proceeded to produce a communicable version of the
Jusenkyo gender flipping curse. Within 150 days 90%
of the world's population switched gender with varying
water temperatures, 7% could control their change, 2%
changed randomly each morning and 1% were immune.
The "Nerima Virus" overid any previous Jusenkyo curse,
including Tarou's monster form (except that only those
cursed at Jusenkyo are water magnets)...also, the cold
water form will often be incredibly attractive,
Gosunkugi, for example, made a eeriely attractive
gothic chick that was attracting a lot of attention
from "Cold Water Boys" (born girls) suddenly
it only affected humans (Terran and Jurai) and
variants (the GD weres for example would be
infected)...Mihoshi, Washu, and Ryoko (this is OAV
Tenchi) were not affected for example...nor were the
goddesses from OMG (though they could probably fake it
with magic to keep their cover)...the Kryn of Diggers
("except for the feline features and fur we're
basically human") would probably also be
affected...but not elves or many other of the magical
races on Jade (except, of course, the already
mentioned weres who are basically human too) unless
they have a human parent or whatever...
As far as the vignettes go, I am focusing mostly on
Robert Haynie's additions to Chris Jones' work. So I
would suggest reading "The Virus", "Adjusting", and
"Cold Water Date"
Virtually any anime/comic set in modern times is
acceptable for character generation.
For my two I'm probably looking at a child of Yohko
and Ayako Mano (DHY), probably a Cold Water Boy
(born-girl) and the child of Lydia McKracken and
Raphiel Rey, a Cold Water Girl were-rat/cheetah
the game WILL be set in JAPAN!!! Unless you don't
mind a worldwide (or universe-wide, though the
quarantine of Earth would probably still be in effect,
there are human races out there that would rather not
be aquatransexuals and the virus isn't supposed to go
away for another generation or so) setting
As for how the game would run....
basically like the situation in Ranma: Children of
Nerima...address below...

which means...no real DM...
game play is by posting and reading email....nothing
more than an email carrier is necessary for those of
you that have problems with computers....
the players just sort of free role-play their
characters against and with each other...minor NPCs
(such as monsters for a Mano or Sailor Senshi) can be
thrown in at random times as long as it doesn't get
out of control...basically...no more than three posts
a day per player...please...more than that gets
ugly...fights are to be kept less than serious mostly,
the universe this is set in is almost pure
comedy...any sort of big time villains will be let in
cautiously and only as a minor thing...no more than
TWO major PCs per player...more than that gets messy
as I've learned in other games....focus on comedy
okay, so if you take a marvel or DC character, for
example, leave the angst at the door....
you send me your character idea and I either approve
or disapprove and then you just introduce yourself by
writing a post of what your character is doing in the
current game day...
note: Cold Water Girls (born-boys) are always
attracted to Cold Water Boys (born-girls) and vice
versa, with the strongest attraction coming into play
while one is a girl and the other is a boy (with the
obvious excpetions for "lifestyle" bits)
While in guy form, both will conform to the normal
anime guy stereotypes (meaning nosebleeds,
shy/stuttering, semi-perverts, girl-crazy...etc....)
and the normal anime girl stereotypes while in girl
form (tomboy, schoolgirl, ultra kawaii, pervert
bashing, boy-crazy...etc....etc...)
