Chapter 1:

I woke up; lying down on something soft and comfortable, turning my head I noticed I was lying on my bed, and was wondering how I had gotten here, because the last thing I remembered was a massive headache and the falling over. Then I heard a someone behind me, sitting in the chair that I keep in my room, at that I suddenly sat bolt up right and twisted around to see who was there, wishing afterwards I didn�t do that because my headache returned, not as bad as before but there nether the less. It was Urd, sitting there oblivious to everything; she was reading one of the 3x3 Eyes mangas I had bought a few weeks ago.

�Ahh. So your awake, good I was thinking you would never wake up, you�ve been asleep for a few hours now.� She said, looking at me over the top of the book she was reading.

�Urm, ahh yeah how did I get here, last thing I remember is� Oh god, the last thing I remember was you floating in the air, and then a sudden headache and collapsing on the floor, what happened?� I said, almost screaming at her towards the end.

�It was the wish you made, it was granted, but somehow the Ultimate Force made it something else, something more then just a basic wish, you need to look in a mirror.� somehow Father, The All Mighty decided to slightly alter your wish, make it more then what you could ever believe.� She said, almost in a whisper knowing that I had a headache.

So at her words, I started to get up, I almost got stood up straight before I started to fall back down again, my headache pounding more then before, and I had a slight dizzy spell, after a few seconds I tried again, but this time even though I had a headache, it was starting to go away, I finally stood up, and walked out of my room to the bathroom, and went to one of the mirrors on the wall, I felt slightly weird walking there, but thought nothing off it. What I saw almost made me collapse again, but before I could fall, I gathered my self control again and stood there gaping, you could say my jaw hit the floor.

It was me looking into the mirror, but I was not too sure it was me who was being reflected back, I had changed, my features had changed, there where the same weird tattoos that where on Urd�s face, but they where different, a purple colour and just outlines, I had a inverted triangle beneath each eye, and two slight larger triangles on their sides facing away from each other on my forehead, if that was not freaky enough, then my features where even worse, I looked like I had lost around 20 kilos in weight, the fat had gone, to be replaced with muscle, not much, not enough to make me look like a body builder, but enough to make it look like I went out to the gym and worked out to get a toned body, I lost my slight beer-gut and even the slight spot problem I have been plagued with since I turned 14 has cleared up, I turned round, with surprise in my eyes, and my jaw wide open to look at Urd who followed me to the bathroom to look at myself, I had another surprise, when I turned around, I couldn�t see her right, she was out of focus slightly, even though I had my glasses on, so I took them off. I could see her just fine, better then fine, more like I didn�t need to wear my glasses anymore, something I have had to do for the past several years.

�What? What happened to me?� I asked.

�It�s a few side effects from your wish, that�s what I meant when Father altered your wish, there�s other matters that you need to talk to Him about, He contacted me while you where taking your little nap, so this might shock you a bit more, but maybe it wont after what you have just seen, so just go with it OK?� she says while grabbing my wrist and pulling me back into my bedroom and moving over to the TV she appeared out of.

If I hadn�t seen how Urd appeared to me in the first place, I�d be shocked been she somehow touched the TV screen and her hand went through the glass to about her wrist, there was a flash of white light, which caused me to quickly shut my eyes, and a sudden rushing sensation, followed by a kind of weightless feeling all around me and then I felt solid ground beneath my feet, after I opened my eyes to let them recover from the bright flash, and I found myself in a massive hallway, it was beautiful the floors, walls and ceiling was made out of a pearl white marble with gold lines running around the edges, it was well lit and had a few people walking about, a few were just walking normally and a few where hovering or floating to and from where ever they where coming and going, I was amazed, nothing anyone could say could of prepared me for it.

I felt Urd again start pulling me towards the end of the hallway to a young lady sitting down at a wooden desk, nothing was out of the ordinary when you looked at this young lady sitting at the desk, unless you counted the fact that she had these beautiful large white feathery wings protruding from out of her back. Urd stopped just a few feet from the desk and said that she was expected and asked to her to see The All Mighty.

This suddenly shocked me back to the real world as it were, and I just looked at Urd questionly and asked who The All Mighty is, I was having a nervous feeling growing in the put of my stomach as I asked this, fearing what I thought the answer was.

�The All Mighty is my Father, he goes by many names, God, Kami-Sama to name a few, but generally his just called Kami-Sama, Father or The All Mighty, and He wants to see us now� she says as she pushes me towards a pair of massive doors.

The doors start to open slightly, something that should be virtually impossible due to the size of the doors, but they did never the less.

I half walked and was half dragged through the now open doors and into a fairly large room, this room was largely empty apart from the works of art which hung on the walls, and a large desk sat in the middle of the room, the person sitting behind the desk was somehow partially hidden in shadows, even though the room was lit up brightly, it was as if the person sitting at the desk just did not want to be seen, and generated the shadows to hide his identity.

�GREETINGS URD, ITS NICE TO HAVE YOU BACK UP HERE EVEN IF ITS FOR BUSINESS� The voice of The All Mighty boomed across the room, his voice although it was almost said in a normal voice, somehow carried power and authority with it, it�s a voice that somehow would be heard in even the most noisy of rooms or gatherings.

�Hello Father, its good to see you again, May I present to you, Andrew.� Urd said while bowing at the waist slightly.

�GREETINGS ANDREW, IT�S NICE TO MEET YOU.� The All Mighty said, again in his booming voice.

�Hel... Hel... Hello sir...� I stammer, rather nervously I say, somehow although not scared of this person in front of me, but nervous and frightened of who this person is and what he represents. My world as I know it has been turned upside down only half a day. I�ve seen a pretty lady pop out of my TV, was offered a wish, transported to what I believe was Heaven and now I was standing in front of God, but now as what Urd told me, who is not a God but The God.

�DON�T BE SCARED ANDREW, NO HARM IS GOING TO COME TO YOU WHILE YOU ARE HERE, I JUST ASKED URD TO BRING YOU TO ME, SO I CAN TALK TO YOU ABOUT THE REPERCUSSIONS OF THE WISH YOU HAVE MADE, IT�S SOMETHING THAT SHOULD NOT HAVE HAPPENED BUT DUE TO THE WORDING OF THE WISH YOU MADE, IT HAS SOMEHOW GOTTEN PAST THE SAFE GUARDS THAT ARE IN PLACE IN THE WISH APPROVAL SYSTEM. URD CAN YOU PLEASE WAIT OUTSIDE FOR A FEW MOMENTS, I NEED TO TALK TO ANDREW ALONE, THERE A FEW THINGS I NEED TO DISCUSS WITH HIM AND ONLY HE NEEDS TO BE HERE AND MAKE HIS OWN CHOICES.� The All Mighty says.

�Of course Father.� Urd says again bowing slightly, and she turned on her feet and walked out of His office, the doors closing behind her, to give us some privacy.

When I turned back around from looking at Urd leaving His office, I jumped back slightly, The All Mighty was standing in front of me, again his features masked by shadows, he lent over and lightly touched my shoulder with a finger, and as soon as he did that, all my fears went away and my nerves relaxed slightly, I was still nervous but that was to be considered, because in front of me, staring, I think he was staring, deep into my eyes, as if he was looking for something, he chuckled a bit after a while, breaking his stare, and took a few steps back.

�Do YOU REMEMBER THE WISH YOU MADE ANDREW? HOW YOU WORDED IT, WHAT YOU ACTUALLY ASKED FOR?� he asked?

�Urm, not exactly Sir,�I replied �I do know I wasted my wish, I didn�t mean to ask for what I did, I was talking to Urd when it came out, I explaned that to her afterwards, but she didn�t answer me, and pointed me to a mirror to look me myself, and to say I was to come and see you, have I done something wrong? If I have I am very sorry about all of this�

�NO YOU HAVE DONE NOTHING WRONG, WHAT YOU DID WAS WISH FOR SOMETHING THAT WAS TRUE TO HEART, AND SOMETHING YOU HAVE ALWAYS WANTED, I OFFERED YOU A WISH THROUGH URD BECAUSE I HAVE READ YOUR FILE?�

At this I was puzzled? My file?

�YES, YOUR FILE, EVERYONE BOTH HERE IN ASGARD AND DOWN ON THE MORTAL PLANE OR AS WE CALL IT MIDGARD, HAS A FILE, IT HOLDS EVERYTHING ABOUT THAT PERSON IN IT, WHO THEY ARE, WHAT THEY ARE, WHAT THEY DO, AND WHAT THEY WILL EVER BE. YOUR WISH WAS GRANTED BECAUSE EVEN THOUGH AT TIMES YOU HAVE DONE THINGS WRONG, AND BEEN NAUGHTY AND RUDE AT TIMES, YOU HAVE ALWAYS SEEN WHAT YOU HAVE DONE WRONG AFTERWARDS, AND MADE WHAT WAS WRONG, RIGHT EVEN IF IT MEANT THAT YOU WOULD LOSE FACE, AND GET YOURSELF IN MORE TROUBLE, YOU HAVE GONE OUT OF YOUR WAY TO MAKE PEOPLE HAPPY, EVEN AT THE EXPENSE OF YOUR OWN HAPPINESS. THAT�S WHY YOU WERE GIVEN A WISH, NORMALLY PEOPLE WASTE THEIR WISHES, AND SOMETIMES THEY WISH FOR MONETARY VALUES, TO LIVE FOREVER OR EVEN FOR LOVE, SOME OF THE WISHES LIKE WHAT YOU DID, HAVE WISHED FOR SOMETHING WITHOUT THINKING ABOUT IT, WISHED FOR SOMETHING FROM THEIR HEART, WITHOUT KNOWING IT, OR REALIZING IT, THAT�S THE BEST WISHES ANYONE COULD ASK FOR, A WISH THAT COMES FROM THE SOUL, AND THAT�S WHAT HAS BROUGHT YOU TO THIS PLACE, AND TO ME. I HAVE A REQUEST TO ASK OF YOU, SOMETHING THAT WILL CHANGE YOUR LIFE FOREVER, BUT IT DOES COME WITH A PRICE, BUT IT ALSO DOES COME WITH ITS BENEFITS.� The All Mighty says.

�What can I do for you? You�re God? You can do anything you want, what can I do?� I say, I was very curious now?

�WELL, WHEN YOU MADE YOUR WISH, I WAS LOOKING FOR A NEW GOD OR GODDESS TO HELP ME, JUST LIKE WHAT URD AND HER SISTERS DO? I NEED SOMEONE WHO LIKES CHILDREN, HAS A LIKING TO THEM, AND WANTS TO HELP THEM IN ANYWAY THEY CAN, TO CARE FOR THEM WHEN THEY NEED LOVE AND CARE, TO HELP THEM THEN THEY ARE IN NEED OF HELP, HELP THAT NO ONE ELSE CAN PROVIDE FOR THEM, BUT MOSTLY TO WATCH OVER CHILDREN. AFTER ALL CHILDREN ARE THE FUTURE OF EVERY RACE, AND WHEN YOU MADE YOUR WISH, AND THE WAY YOU WENT ABOUT ASKING FOR IT, I KNEW YOU WHERE THE ONE PERSON I WAS LOOKING FOR, YOU ARE NOT THE BEST, BUT NOR ARE YOU THE WORSTED, BUT WITH HELP FROM ME, AND THE NORNS AND ANY OTHERS THAT YOU COME ACROSS, YOU CAN BE BETTER THEN YOU ARE NOW, YOU CAN BE TAUGHT. THE CHANGES THAT HAVE HAPPENED TO YOU ARE ONLY THE BEGINNING, WHAT I WOULD LIKE TO ASK FROM YOU IS THIS, I WOULD LIKE YOU TO FILL A POSITION HERE IN ASGARD THAT HAS BECOME AVAILABLE, BECOME A GOD, AND ASSUME THE ROLE OF A PROTECTOR, GUIDE AND TEACHER OF CHILDREN, TO HELP THEM, GUIDE THEM, TEACH THEM, WHEN THEY ARE IN NEED. IT WILL BE HARD BUT I THINK YOU WILL MANAGE. WHAT DO YOU SAY? I KNOW YOU WANT TO BECOME A TEACHER, AND THIS WOULD BE THE ULTIMATE WAY TO BECOME THAT? YOU WOULD BECOME MORE THEN A TEACHER, MORE THEN ANYTHING YOU CAN IMAGINE, HELP CHILDREN, ESPECIALLY YOUNG CHILDREN MORE THEN YOU BEGIN TO IMAGINE, DON�T ANSWER RIGHT AWAY, THINK ABOUT IT FOR A FEW MINUTES.� He said, knowing that a decision about this could not be answered right away; if it was then it would be the wrong decision.

I didn�t know what to believe or how to answer, I couldn�t thing straight, here I was being asked if I would be willing to become a God, become more then I could ever of thought possible, and to follow my dreams, help children, help them in more ways then I thought I could ever do, even if I was a teacher, I had to think, had to way up the right decisions, I mind was screaming yes, go for it, but I was worried did I have what it takes to become what He wants me to be? I would have to believe in myself, and be able to live up to His expectations, this would change me, maybe for the better, but also for the worse, what if I made a cock up of this? It�s not like I would get a second chance like this? Or a second chance to fix what I would do wrong if I accepted.

�What would happen if I declined your offer? What would happen to me?� I asked, this is something that I would have to know, would I be made to forget what had happened to me up to this point?

�NOTHING, NOTHING WOULD HAPPEN TO YOU, I WOULD NOT BE ANNOYED WITH YOU IF YOU TURNED MY OFFER DOWN, I WOULD SIMPLY ASK URD TO TAKE YOU BACK TO YOUR HOME, AND URD WOULD SIMPLY OFFER YOU ANOTHER WISH, AND WISH YOU THE BEST OF LUCK WITH THE REST OF YOUR LIFE. YOU WOULD STILL REMEMBER WHAT HAD HAPPENED HERE, I WOULD NOT REMOVE THESE MEMORIES.� He answered

I knew he was not lying to me, after all God does not lie, everyone knows that right?

After a few minutes of a massive internal debate in my head about what I was going to do, I could only thing of one true answer�

�I accept, I will accept the offer you have made, to be honest I am scared of what�s to become of me and how I am going to do what you have asked, but I would like the opportunity to do more, be more then I could of done if I turned it down, or if I never made my wish, I just hope I do not disappoint you or the faith you have in me.� I said, while bowing low to Him.

Kami-sama starts to glow �SO BE IT, I, KAMI-SAMA, LORD OF HEAVEN AND ALL THAT STANDS BELOW IT, PROCLAIM THAT THE MORTAL KNOWN AS ANDREW PAINTER SHALL BE NO MORE, SHALL BE NOW KNOWN AS ANDREW, GOD OF CHILDREN, CLASS 1, CATEGORY 1, UNLIMITED.�

At the end of  Kami-sama�s proclamation, I felt a massive rush of power, smash into me, I grasped my head in pain, it driving me to my knees, I felt warmth, love, joy, pain, misery, hate, and much more flow through my being, I had to close my eyes due to the pain, but when I did, I saw everything thru my minds eye, I saw Kami-sama, without being hidden in shadows, I saw Urd waiting outside His Office, all of Asgard, all of Midgard, my family back home, everything and everyone, but as soon as it began, it was over. I stood up, and looked over to Kami-sama, who was back sitting at his desk.

�YOU HAVE CHOSEN WELL ANDREW, AND FOR THAT I THANK YOU, ALL THOUGH BEFORE YOU CAME TO MY OFFICE, YOU WAS ALREADY PARTIALLY A GOD, BECAUSE I KNEW YOU WOULD MAKE THE RIGHT DECISION, BUT NOW YOU HAVE ACCEPTED IT, SO NOW YOU ARE FULLY A GOD, THE FEELING YOU JUST FELT IS KNOWN AS THE FINAL UNDERSTANDING, I HAVE LIMITED YOUR NEW POWERS FOR THE TIME BEING, JUST WHILE YOU LEARN HOW TO MANAGE YOUR NEW SKILLS,  I AM SENDING YOU TO STAY WITH URD AND HER SISTERS FOR THE TIME BEING SO THEY CAN TEACH YOU THE SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE THAT YOU WILL NEED TO OPERATE AS A GOD AND HOW TO GO ABOUT YOUR DUTIES AS SUCH.�

�What about my family back home? They will get worried if I just up and leave them.� I ask warily, what had just happened to me, tired me out quite a lot.

�WELL DUE TO YOUR WISH, THE ULTIMATE FORCE HAS TAKEN OVER, AND IT SHALL DO ANYTHING IT CAN TO MAKE SURE THAT YOUR WISH IS CARRIED OUT TO ITS FULLEST, SO YOU DON�T NEED TO WORRY ABOUT THAT, SO FAR, SINCE THIS MORNING, YOUR PARENTS HAVE BEEN INFORMED THAT YOU ARE GOING ON A EXTENDED WORK EXPERIENCE COURSE IN JAPAN TO HELP YOU OUT WITH YOUR DECISION TO GO INTO TEACHING, AND THAT YOU HAD TO LEAVE RATHER QUICK TO GRAB THE FLIGHT AND THAT THEY HAD NOTHING WORRY ABOUT, AND THAT YOU WILL BE CONTACTING THEM SHORTLY TO TELL THEM THAT YOUR OK AND EVERYTHING IS FINE, QUITE NICELY DONE REALLY.� He explains.

�Just what is this Ultimate Force that you mentioned, because Urd also mentioned it� I enquired.

�WELL THE ULTIMATE FORCE IS BASICALLY PROGRAM THAT IS CONSTANTLY RUNNING ON YGGDRASIL, AND IT MAKES SURE THAT EVERYTHING ON MIDGARD WORKS THE WAY IT SHOULD DO, IF AND WHEN THE ULTIMATE FORCE HAS TO MAKE CHANGES TO THE TIME LINE, DON�T WORRY ABOUT THAT FOR THE TIME BEING, URD AND HER SISTERS SHALL EXPLAIN IN MORE DETAIL WHAT THE ULTIMATE FORCE IS, AND EVERYTHING ELSE YOU HAVE OR SHALL HAVE TO QUESTION OR ASK ABOUT.� He says, putting his hand up to silence any more questions I might have.

�RIGHT THEN, LET ME MAKE SURE THAT EVERYTHING HAS BEEN SORTED FOR THE TIME BEING, YOU HAVE YOUR DOMAIN SET, YOUR GOD MARKINGS, YOUR UNIFORM AND CLOTHING SORTED, YOUR TRAVEL MEDIUM HAS BEEN SET, TRAINING IS BEING DEALT WITH, EVERYONE SHALL BE INFORMED ABOUT YOU AND YOUR NEW POSITION, YOUR ACCOUNT WITH YGGDRASIL HAS BEEN SETUP, AND YOUR FILE HAS BEEN UPDATED TO SAY THAT YOUR NOW THE NEW GOD OF CHILDREN. THE ONLY THINGS THAT ARE LEFT IS FOR YOU TO GO AND BE INTRODUCED TO URD�S SISTERS, AND TO GIVE YOU A ANGEL, THAT URD WILL SORT OUT WHEN YOU LEAVE HERE, I�M GOING TO TELL HER TO GET YOU A ANGELS EGG, AND FOR YOU TO USE IT IMMEDIATELY, THAT WILL GIVE YOU YOUR OWN ANGEL AND WILL ALSO FINISH THE CHANGES TO YOUR BODY, AND WHAT I MEAN BY THAT IS THAT THE EGG WITH BASICALLY FORCE YOUR BODY TO REACH ITS �TRUE� FORM WHICH IS THE ADDITION OF A PAIR OF WINGS, AND THAT�S IT, ANY QUESTIONS?� he said, while he was running through what I believed was a check-list on a semi-transparent screen which had appeared near his desk.

�No Father.� I said, for some reason it seemed right to call him that, I don�t know why, I�ll have to ask Urd about it later maybe.

�OK THEN,� He smiled slightly when I called Him, Father. �BY MY WILL THIS MEETING IS FINISHED, GOOD LUCK ANDREW, GOD OF CHILDREN.�

I bowed slightly to Him, and turned round and walked out of his office, the doors opening just as I approached them and closed behind me after I had walked through them, as soon as I left His office; I noticed Urd talking to the lady who had let us into His office, when we first arrived.

�Well?� Urd said when she noticed I was walking towards her?

As I approached her, I reached into my back pocket and pulled out a card, and handed to her, she read out aloud what was on the card.

�Andrew, God of Children, Class 1, Category 1, Unlimited.� She said, her voice gaining a annoyed tone when she read out the Category 1, Unlimited, bit. Why she was annoyed at this I don�t know, but I was going to find out later. �Powers will be limited and restricted until further notice to Earth Bound Trainee Levels, Primary Teachers: Urd, Belldandy and Skuld.� She also read out, after noticing that more was written on the card.

While she was busy looking at the card after finishing saying what was on it, I told her that Father wanted me to get a angels egg right away, and that I was going to be staying with her and her sisters in Japan, and would help me settle in and answer any questions I might have before my training started in a few days time.

�Right then, at least that�s one good thing about this whole mess you have made, and that�s that you powers are restricted and limited for the time being, I am annoyed though that a new person like you has the same power levels of my sister Belldandy, and yet more powerful then my own, sounds like Father has big plans for you in a few months time when your used to your new station, and what�s this about a angels egg?!? You wont be able to control a angel at this time, you wont have the powers to do so.� She said in a tone that sounded like she was not too pleased with the outcome of my meeting with Kami-sama.

�The angel or angels� egg is Father�s orders, and what do you mean by, by me not being powerful enough to control an angel? If control is normally needed then I am glad I don�t have that, it�s not right for me to control anyone�s actions in that way.� I say matter of factually.

With that comment she turns a lovely shade of red, and angrily says �Let�s go�. You will know soon enough, what I meant by that and you will regret it too.�
