'enormous' makes me think of a large object rather than something
intangible.

It is a large object.  I don't know where you got the idea it's intangible.

It's not a joke.  It's something Natsumi does in one of the original stories.
She gets asked to speak English, she says gibberish, and nobody notices.  Of
course, in this story Usagi notices.

    "I hope so.  I've always managed to do it so far, somehow."

After Usagi saw the new Spider Man movie, she incorperatred into her
tactics, 'Sailor Trackers' in tune with her 'Sailor Sense' to tag the bad
guys with so she could track them down to their lairs and attack when they
least expected it

Actually, I was considering doing almost that.  The trackers would be made by
Ami, but they'd be shaped like spiders (yes, really) and used to track.
Because, you see, Usagi wouldn't make the trackers look like it was her that
sent them.
