Like I said, Brad, a lot of it IS a matter of style and my C&C tends to
reflect my style. No matter how hard I try, my own style gets in the way of
my judgement when I read a yarn. My C&C also tends to reflect what I find
easy to read, so I'll grump when I run across something that bugs me. That
does not mean that the same things will bother the rest of your reading
audience. You cannot go by the judgment of one person in this kind of thing=
,
and in the end, you're stuck with making the final decision yourself. It's
your story. All I can do as critic and helpmeet is point out what seems to
need polish.=20

On the whole, you've got a good story going. Stick with it and keep up the
good work.

Don.

Okay, that makes sense! I was actually kinda worried, because all my stor=
ies
are written that way, and I was wondering if I was doing something wrong.
=20
Don, I'll wait and see if you have anything else to add, but at the very
least I think some of the "dialogue with narrative" stuff in my fic could=
 be
cleaned up a little. Still, I might stick with my own style for the momen=
t,
as it's easier for me and I'm used to it.
=20
Anyway, thanks for your viewpoint, Gary! And if anybody else wants to add
their thoughts to writing styles, I'd be more than willing to listen! ^_^
