Well, the ships aren't that powerful from the sounds of things, and I
doubt they have that many people.

One thing always seems a bit strange to me about how each generation of
tree ships is less powerful than the previous one...

The only reason I can think of for this to happen is if each tree-ship
has exactly *one* parent, bred with itself (trees are hermaphrodites),
and is thus weaker due to inbreeding.

Why hasn't anyone the wits to try and get pollen from some first
generation tree ships and use that fertilize their own ships?
