This makes two "Ash as Vash" spamfics I've seen in the past few months,
maybe more.  But I haven't seen the reverse yet...

In all my life, I have never seen anyone so kind to pokemon as this
so-called pokemon killer.  I have yet to see him draw a single drop of
blood.  And I have yet to see him fail to take a situation seriously,
despite his mask of egotism and cluelessness.

He claims to be just wandering around, but I have to wonder if he does
not seek out trouble, planning to encounter it where it will do minimum
harm.  How else would we have run into that pack of squirtles draining a
town's water supply?  And yet, despite his gun being powerful enough to
easily blow their heads off, he managed to stun them all with the same
bullets that knocked out their blastoise leader.

Sometimes, his mask gets to me.  He pretends to be interested only in
his own accomplishments, mostly tournament victories - target shooting
or battling with borrowed pokemon.  But I know there is more to his
plan, for someone out there will not leave him alone.  Assassins seem
to plague him, either attacking him directly or attacking the people
around him to try to get him to spend his life saving them.  It would be
so easy to dispose of them if they were from the obvious organization: I
may not wear the blood red R, but money talks, and my employers are
rich.  But they are worse than Team Rocket, for Rockets have at least
some respect for life.

And I know one burden he carries: a Mew, engineered and tormented to
nearly unimaginable heights of power, who comes out on its own for the
most serious combats.  Already, this "MewTwo" has destroyed one city
that I know of, and I suspect it destroyed the other one that caused him
to have that infamous bounty on his head.  I wonder if it has any will
of its own...if, perhaps, its sole point in life is to burden him with
its destructive power.  If anyone but him was its master, or if it were
ever freed, I shudder to imagine the consequences.

Against all that, it seems rather unremarkable that Vash Ketchum is a
pikachu.  Though I do wonder why he maintains that broom-like 'do over
his entire body.
