Ok, I guess I have enough judges for now (see previous email), so I'm going 
to get this thing started. I will provide a challenge, and you, the ffml 
public, will get to write fics that comply with the challenge. The judges 
will review the fics, and the best ones will get some sort of recognition. 
So, here is the first challenge:

Write a fic, about any anime, in which a major character is killed at the 
beginning. The death must be according to the character's personality - for 
example, Sailor Moon wimps out during a battle and accidentally jumps into 
the monster's attack. The fic will then follow the other characters as they 
react to the death - will a secret love be revealed? Will a character fall 
into another's arms in grief? Will someone get violent? Will an old foe 
reappear? It's up to you. The only other restriction is that resurrection 
cannot be an option. If you choose an anime where it is possible, relegate 
the character to the darkest depths of Hell, or something.

Please send in your fics to me by the end of June.
