You and I would do this--because Superamulet 2000s don't exist in our world,
so trying to find one would merely be a futile struggle against the

may be good, but there's a lot to say for beating death by not dying.
It's like that story where Kunou celebrates Veterans Day. The Ranma
characters aren't generic people, and they don't live in a generic universe.
Sometimes their particular circumstances will prevent generic plots from
working, even though the series is just a frivolous piece of comedy and the
plot gives important insights into the human condition.
