I would like to try and run a fanfic competition combining the competitive
nature of awards like the Tako/Chickenballs with the restrictions of a
fanfic challenge. For example, challenges have been made in the past to
write a fic in a certain style, or to include a particular line of dialogue,
etc.

What I would do in this competition would be to set a challenge to authors,
along with a reasonable deadline, and have a group of judges rate the
resulting fics. The winners would be announced, and all entries (or at
least, all serious and reasonably legible entries) would be put up on a web
page. What I need is a group of judges.

Would anyone be willing to be a judge? The requirements are:

a) To have passing knowledge with a reasonable number of anime series

b) To be willing to read a few fics based on series you know very little
about

c) To think up ideas for challenges, because I'm not a bottomless pit of
ideas

d) To be willing to read fanfics with an eye for meeting challenge
requirements as well as all the other factors.

I would just do something like put all contenders up on a page and let
people vote, but this would risk all sorts of cheating or screw-ups.
Besides, I'm not sure whether I could set up that sort of page.

Anyone interested in being a judge, send me (not the list) a quick email.
I'd like a few judges, and it wouldn't take up much more time than reading a
few fics every so often.

Thank you,

ConMan
