Washuu turned to Ed and nodded.  Ed pointed a finger at the
pattern and gleefully supplied a "spazzuu!" sound effect, while
miming pulling a trigger.  A detailed copy appeared on the screen
of Ed's holographic taptop.  Ed plopped herself down on the sand
and started typing.

ED!! ED!! ED!! ED!! ED!! ED!! ED!!

Glad you're enjoying Ed.  The addition of Radical Edward
as a Tenchi fiance is, I must admit, working out much better,
on several levels, than I ever expected.  I've had several
compliments on the idea (and its execution).

Aeka and Ryouko stopped eating in mid-munch to stare at the
oblivious Mihoshi.  "Oh, is THAT why?" they said in unison.

*snrk*

"Will it work this time, Zoalmel Gustav?"

In a deeper voice, the vendor responded to herself.  "Of course it
will."

*smaks forehead*

"My martial arts career was completely destroyed; who sponsors
tournaments anywhere other than the beach?" explained Junpei.

I get the feeling I should recognize him...

Not necessarily... two of the three extraneous series I used
this time aren't that well known.

"I was an expert weapons designer with one of the largest firms
on Daikyou," explained the third, Ritsuko, "but who builds weapon
research labs away from the beach?"

Akagi?

Nope, sorry.

Mihoshi beamed.  "Okay!  THen, you can stare at my bottom now!"

Only Mihoshi.

Yep.  :)  Can't imagine this working out this way with any of
Tenchi's other girls; or, for that matter, with almost any
other female anime character.

Radical Edward is from "Cowboy Bebop", Yume is from the Tenchi
manga.  Martina is from "Slayers Next".  Airi, Ritsuko, and Junpei
are from "Those Who Hunt Elves."

Oh.

(shrugs) Oh well, can't use major series all the time; there
aren't enough of them.

I think, on reflection, that I like this for the same reason 
that I liked Sorcerer Hunters... It's stupid-funny, yes, but
it -revels- in it, and does it well, and carries it so far
that you can only either laugh, scream, MST, or some
combination of the three.

Well... (I think that's a compliment...)
I've always thought that you _can't_ really MST a story that
isn't taking itself very seriously, but is executed well.
You might try, but I suspect you'd quickly find that your
comments weren't adding very much.  OTOH, some of the detailed
commentary I get on stories like this (DB Sommer comes to mind,
though he's not the only one) reads sort of like a MST itself.
