As interesting as this idea is, and one of the good things is Akane is dead,
which leaves Ranma to romantically hook up with someone else, is that no
self-respecting military will accept a computer that will act on its own
initiative just because it was insulted. With Akane's and Ranma's
confrontational relationship, Akane would, just like in your example, would
charge in recklessly into enemy areas, or even ruin entire mission scenarios
by going against orders and ignoring any plans that may have been devised,
just to prove she's capable of doing so. They would have immediately
scrapped the personality portion of the program, because it would be a
danger and a threat. A weapon is a weapon. It can not be allowed to think
or act for itself without direct approval, or outside of previously defined
guidelines. And just like in your example, Akane charging into the test
area just because Ranma said she was a piece of junk is one of the examples
that would enforce this. After all, what if this reckless disobedience
causes the death of innocent people, or even Ranma himself. The chance is
to great, especially with your scenario where Ranma and the Interceptor is
the only hope.
But hey, this is just my idea, you don't necessarily have to agree with it.
After all, I wouldn't want a machine that is designed to kill have a
personality where it believes killing is wrong or disobeys direct orders.
