That much is certainly true. At least the Belldandy
part. Skuld was too young to support Urd much.

   She hated being required to go back and make sure
kid or kids were doing appropriately well.  Which is
to say, terribly.  
   She hated the long wait for their demon-blood
combined with their anguish to send them spiralling
along the path of evil and self-destruction.  
   She hated having to wait for the jerks that
wished
her into the place get theirs for basically turning
her into a bedslave for a few years.  

Unlike deities, demons are under no obligation to
grant a wish, and can twist it as suits their fancy.
Reference Tamiya's and Sayoko's wishes.

THIS particular
jerk hadn't even needed to be approached and tricked
into ruining his life.  The moron had contacted them
and sold his soul for a wife and children.

The standard payment is, indeed, ones soul.

   "At least Ranma's an Amazon now," Urd said

as she walked down the path after bidding Kodachi a
VERY fond and temporary farewell.  "I'll have to see
if I can fix the damage."
   Suddenly she was grabbed and slammed against the
wall.

Of course, if this weren't a spoof I'd be wondering
what possessed Mara to confront Urd directly. Mara is
always very careful and sneaky around Urd. Directly
confront Belldandy, sure, but use sneak attacks on
Urd. Slamming up against the wall is something Urd
would do to Mara, but only if Mara had first done
something nasty to Urd.

   "I don't care if I die in taking you out, NORN,"
Mara growled.
   ~Shit, she's pissed,~ Urd thought, trying to take
in breath past Mara's hand.

Which brings up the question, does a goddess need to
breath? They certainly don't seem to need to eat or
drink. Other than replacing energy reserves for Urd or
Skuld when Yggdrasil is down, of course.

Mara a protective mom? Bwahahahahaha! Oh well, sure,

   ~Shit,~ Urd thought, the thought even a very tiny
voice.

Hmm. Although in a generic situation like this Urd
would normally just trounce her friend, in this
specific case she probably would hesitate due to Mara
occupying the moral high ground. Urd has trouble
dealing with people in situations like this.
