Well, I enjoyed that quite a bit. 

I know very little of FY, so this AU worked extremely well. I
came out of it liking some characters and disliking othes, which
probably means all sorts of good things. I also really liked the
ending, bleak and unnexpected. I wasn't too surprised by the
events in the temple, you did a good job foreshadowing, but the
whole grisley ending of the book caught me off guard. Very nice.
