It never seemed to me that the two Mitsukis were the "same person".  The Dual
series has some idea that for every person in one world there has to be one in
the other, so in that sense they're counterparts, but they're not what we
usually think of as the same person in two worlds.  They don't look the same,
sound the same, or act the same, nor do they have a common history that
diverged only past a certain point.  They were born four years apart, and in
different months.  Genetically, they would only be half-sisters, not even full
sisters, let alone identical twins.  There's nothing which makes them the same
person aside from the name.
