I pretty much agree with this. Writing to make a point is fine, IMO, but
just putting your point in the mouth of a character just isn't a very
convincing way to make it. What could be more effective is to *show* the
story's point, either directly, or through parody (taking Outward Part's
premise and exaggerating it to an absurd conclusion, perhaps as Thermo
suggested by applying it to some of the other cursed characters).
