"So tell me of these Amazons," Genma asked the guide, who was now dressed in
combat fatigues. The guide pointed toward a well traveled path in the
mountains that branched off the current road they where travel. While the
guide continued to lead them toward the village he began to answer Genma.
"Jusenkyo Amazons very strong fighters. Village fighting tradition go back
before Ice Age." The guide walked toward the edge of a cliff and pointed
toward the distance.
The two martial artists looked over the cliff. Below them was acres and
acres of farmland but in the distance they could see several concrete
structure.
"That Amazon village." The village was really a small city. It had rows
and rows of concrete houses and even asphalt paved roads. Many of the
buildings were only single stories tall but there was one in the village
square that was over 7 stories high.
"Jusendo valley no sleep in Ice Age." The guide continued on their way and
led the group around a bend in the mountain path.
"Glacier stopped beyond mountain ranges. Valley spared from freezing
death." The guide stopped talking as he led the two martial artists over a
dangerous and narrow passage. "Many Amazons ventured out of valley in Ice
Age. Amazons come back with survivors and new ways life."
Before long the travelers were at the outskirts of the village.
"Ah, Mr. Customers, we are here."
>From in front of them came the sound of metal colliding with metal and the
occasional grunt of effort. "Mr. Customer very lucky. They show their
strength now."
Not far away, the entire tribe of Amazons was gathered at the village
center. The entire tribe, at least all those that was here, consisted of
several hundred women of various ages all sitting around a platform.
Everyone there was holding at least one weapon of some kind while observing
the ruckus that on the platform. The platform was a single wooden log
suspended horizontally in midair by iron chains on each side, stark contras
to the quasi modern village. On the log was a lavender haired woman in
traditional Chinese garb. The woman was holding a bonbari, a large metal
sphere attached to a shaft, in each hand. The women, girl really, was
facing off against a giantess who willed a long mace like staff. The two
Amazon's arms blurred in their combat, their weapons clanged loudly with
each parry, a rare site even to their pears as they chirr the two fighters
on.
However, not everyone's attention was on the fight. The attention of those
that hadn't eaten in days was on the feast laid out on a table not far off.
The battle was finished with a well timed swing of the lavender girl's
bonbori but the two martial artists were only concern with stuffing
themselves with the food. The two didn't even notice the large sign by the
table with the words "first prize" or the angry looks they were receiving
from the women around them.
The two martial artists were only interrupted from their feast by the angry
shout of a young woman. "You there!" the lavender hair girl yelled in
Chinese. "Why do you steal..." the girl suddenly smiled when she got a good
look at Ranma.
"What did she say?" Ranma asked the guide dumbly.
The woman said something else in Chinese then, with a single jump, she was
again standing on the wooden log. The girl still had a smile on her face
and motioned Ranma to follow her.
"She said you steal her prize. Now you must fight her." The guide said.
Ranma shrugged and jumped onto the log. The fight was on. The lavender
girl went at Ranma with lightning fast swings of her bonbori. Ranma was
hard pressed to avoid every strike and keep balance at the same time but
still he managed to stay out of the bonbori's way by centimeters.
The girl was getting more and more confident of her victory with every
swing. She started to push her opponent and herself harder and harder, her
own defense totally nonexistent. Her efforts seemed to be successful as she
saw her opponent began to loose his footing on the narrow wooden log.
"Fight over. Too bad," So confident was the girl that she made an
overextended swing to finish her opponent off. Unfortunately, Ranma was
able to flatten himself under the bonboris and come back with a swift kick
to the girl's chin.
+++++++++++
Ranma stood next to the log grinning from ear to ear at his victory.
"You got lucky boy," Genma interrupted. "But I suppose there were some
skill in there. Now lets return to Japan and show that kid wha'cha made
of."
Genma was just about to drag Ranma off again when the lavender girl walked
up to Ranma and held his face gently. Lost for words Ranma did not react
when the girl leaned in and planted a kiss on his cheeks. The girl pulled
away, her face a blushing red. Before Ranma knew what was going on the girl
ran off and disappeared into the crowd.
"Gentlemen, don't be so hasty to leave." An ancient voice came from behind
spoke in perfect Japanese. "Welcome to our village. I am the matriarch,
Old Spice."
The two martial artists looked but saw no one was there.
"Down here,"
The person speaking was an old crone, shrunken and wrinkled with age. She
stood no more than one foot tall, even her walking stick towered over
herself. With her giant out of proportioned eyes and troll like figure, the
old women would have easily been mistaken for a monster if she ever showed
herself in Crystal Tokyo.
The two Saotomes were lost for words.
"Oh how nice. It would seem that she made a fine choice." The old thing
spoke while she looked Ranma over.
"..."
"You, young man have defeated our village champion." The wrinkled bag of
skin paused to let the facts sink in. "Such a feat of skill should not go
unnoticed. Wouldnt you stay a while? We would be honored to have you as a
guest."
"Does this mean we get free food?" Genma asked dumbly.
"Why of course, it wouldn't be very hospitable of us otherwise." the old
women's toothy smile was quite hideous.
"SLAVE!" the old woman shouted over her shoulder.
A moment later a young girl in rags rushed up to the group. She had dark
blue hair and was tall when compared with the other Amazon women. Her face
and hands were covered with grim, her worn out shoes ripped and exposed her
toes. With every step the chains from the shackles around her legs would
drag across the ground, making a very distinctive clang.
"Wha... What is your command mistress?" the submissive girl asked; her voice
low and uncertain.
"Go prepare a room for our guests," the old crone told the girl harshly.
"Yes ma'am,"
++++++++++++
"I'm turning in," Ranma pulled the blanket over his head and was dead to the
world.
"Oh what a lazy boy I have." Genma opened the window and snuck out the
room.
The fat man lurked around the village for over an hour without finding
anything interesting. He was just about to go back when he heard the
distinctive clang of chains dragged across the group. He looked around and
found the slave girl he saw earlier looking very conspicuous. Genma quickly
ducked behind a nearby building. He looked at the girl and smiled. "Maybe
I'll get a few techniques of these women after all."
The girl looked around nervously before she went inside one of the houses.
It was a very plane house. No signs or anything else to designate its
significance, whatever that may be.
Genma crept up to the window. He stayed in the shadows but he could still
see inside. Although the curtains were drawn he could still see through
them as they are parted slightly.
"No please... Your tentacles are too thick." It was the slave girl.
"The codes or Ill rip you in half, The second voice was familiar but
filled with malice. It took a second but Genma realized it was the voice of
the old women, Old Spice. He shivered at the imaginary in his mind.
"PLEASE, ARRGGGGG!!!" The blood chilling gurgle from inside was barely heard
but Genma couldn't help but feel sick. The girl continued to scream but
Genma's only thoughts were on his own hide. Genma tried to make his getaway
but he felt someone was behind him. Genma tried to look but he felt a hard
blow to back of his head. The next thing he knew was the darkness of
unconsciousness.
