"Oh," Belldandy said, "I'm not just visiting, you know! I'm always
here."
When she saw the confusion in the old woman's eyes, Belldandy
added, "It was his wish, you see. It was the way he phrased it. His
actual words were, 'I want a goddess like you to stay with me forever!'
"And so," Belldandy said, smiling sadly, "here I am... forever."
Hm... This is a nice story, well written, but I see one small problem
with it that might just amount to a difference of opinion, after all.
This is a setting where gods and demons are real, therefore, Heaven and
Hell are real. If Keiichi died after living such a rich and happy life,
I'm sure he went to heaven. Why isn't Bell up there at his side? That's
where he really would be - the thing in the grave is just a body, now :).
Yes and no... Yes, K1 is almost certainly passed on to his reward, leaving
behind a human-shaped mass of meat.
No, it doesn't necessarily follow that he's gone to Heaven - I'm pretty sure
he wasn't Christian. Perhaps the soul's course after death has to do with
its faith in life... Or maybe the Hindus were right.
Hmmm. That'd make an interesting story - K1 living life after life, and Bell
always turning up at his side...
Irregardless, this was a good ideafic. Thanks.
Blessed be.
