This is a setting where gods and demons are real, therefore, Heaven and
Hell are real. If Keiichi died after living such a rich and happy life,
I'm sure he went to heaven. Why isn't Bell up there at his side? That's
where he really would be - the thing in the grave is just a body, now :).
Yes and no... Yes, K1 is almost certainly passed on to his reward, leaving
behind a human-shaped mass of meat.
No, it doesn't necessarily follow that he's gone to Heaven - I'm pretty
sure
he wasn't Christian. Perhaps the soul's course after death has to do with
its faith in life... Or maybe the Hindus were right.
Hmmm. That'd make an interesting story - K1 living life after life, and
Bell
always turning up at his side...
Irregardless, this was a good ideafic. Thanks.
Blessed be.
Well, it's perfectly possible that K1 has ALREADY been living life after
life, and that this K1 is just his latest incarnation. Regardless of how
you look at it, though, I really don't see Belldandy being stuck beside K1's
grave for eternity. Keiichi would have realized, or asked, or SOMETHING
before he died, to make sure he knew what was going to happen to Belldandy
afterwards. If he found out she would have to babysit his corpse for
eternity, he would break their contract. Much as the idea my comfort him to
have her go on loving him forever (and the fact that they've been together
over eighty years would certainly be a good start on this), Keiichi would be
horrified at the idea that his wish would force her to remain on the mortal
realm, unable to go home, and stuck with his grave as the only physical
reminder of their relationship.
On the other side of this, the Ultimate Force has to be taken into account.
Keiichi wished to be with Belldandy forever. Would the Ultimate Force
really consider him dying and her being stuck with staying by his grave to
be 'together'? It seems far more likely to me that it wouldn't, and that
Keiichi would either simply not die, or his spirit would remain with
Belldandy even after death, regardless of the normal rules of whatever
religion Belldandy exists in or Keiichi follows (if he does one, I don't
remember any references to him being religious in any way despite his
obvious reasons for being so).
Anyway, this was rather well written and a clever take on the consequences
of K1's wish which clashed rather well with the normal expectations of what
would happen when Keiichi died. The author said in the subject that this
was a spamfic, so I'm not going to take this as his serious opinion on what
would happen eventually, especially since he did the little '^_^;;' bit at
the end. It was cute, and the fic itself was fairly serious, but unless the
author specifically says that this is what he thinks would really happen,
then I'm going to take it as nothing but the spamfic it was stated to be.
Of course, if he says he was serious about it, I'll probably throw rocks at
him until he dies. Evil! Evil! ^_^;
