It takes only a quick cut-and-paste to add an actual credit to the
author who created the characters and world, and doing so is a good way
to show respect for said creator. If nothing else, it will make people
like me more likely to reply to your story. :)

Author's Note: Dangling my feet in the IY pool.
Thanks to her Laz for answering my questions, and Raye
Johnsen for writing the FY fic "Understanding" which
inspired this. It's a quirky idea, but Kagome and
Kikyou are very different... so I don't think it's
IMPOSSIBLE.... As always, FB is appreciated.

I think the basic idea is workable, but you might want to consider a
different execution of it. It's fairly common in fanfic for authors to
ask themselves "I have this idea that I think is ineresting. How should
I use it in a story?" and come up with the obvious answer "I'll have the
character(s) explain it to the reader."

IMO, you'd have a stronger story if you built a fuller plot around your
concept. What conflicts could Kagome and Hojo get into because of it, or
where it would turn out to be a significant factor? Perhaps some sort of
threat follows Kag back from the past, and Ho' has to reconcile himself
with his heritage in order to be able to save her. Or if you want a less
action-oriented story, maybe Hojo's demonic side begins to emerge,
making him act in uncharacteristic ways that neither he nor Kagome
understand, leading to many romantic misunderstandings a la Maison
Ikkoku. And there are many more good possibilities; think about it for a
while, and I'm sure you'll come up with one that you're happy with.

This brings me to what seems like a hole in the story as written --
namely, why is Hojo fully cognizant of his situation? Kagome/Kikyo
is/are generally much more perceptive than IY, and Kaggy is (mostly)
unaware of her heritage except for what she's learned from external
sources like Kaede. It doesn't make a lot of sense to me that Ho' should
automatically remember everything.

Hope this helped. Good luck with your fic!
