Tell me what you think?
This came to my head while watching Session 9: Jamming with Edward and then
switching to CN and seeing a advert for outlaw star.
BTW, I just formatted and so have not re-installed word/works so I have no
spell checker.
I just thought i'd send this across the great information
superhighway/dirtroad, and see what it scrapes up.

Convergance Chapter one
By Tripolar Disorder

Outlaw Star - Cowboy Bebop X-over.

Old School meets the new breed.

*****************************************************************

<Narrator.> Space. An infinite realm of possibilties. An
endless exspanse that defies imagination.

Very little of space is actually explored and charted. Few
venture out past the normal travelling lanes, except the Pirates,
the outlaws and those trying to avoid either of the two....

*****************************************************************

Two ships locked in grapller combat mode. A deadly dance between
machines. Like rams during spring, their arms lock over and over
as the ship come near to near collision.

"Gene! Watch out!!" Yelled Jim as the ship was forced to dodge
a volley of missles from the enemy ship.

<Boom>

"We just took a hit to the starboard engine."
"Munchausen reactor number two is offline."

"Hang on guys, I'm getting outta here!"

"Prepare for Sub-Ether." Gene was making a pattern through space
away from combat and avoiding the overtaking missles.

Just as Malfina engaged the sub-ether drive, Gilliam announced.
"Detecting spacial irregularity. It's directly in front of us!"

Suddenly, in front of the Outlaw Star appeared a bright flash of
light. Those inside could see a bright ring of lights before
them that seemed to continue on forever. Then the cabin was
flooded with light.

The pirates watched as this strange hole in space appeared in
front of the outlaw Star. The nose of the ship hit it creating
an enormus flash outward.

Screams could be heard across the radio as several pirate ships
looking on were engulfed and the ships themselves vaporized.

When the light subsided, that section of space was now empty.

*****************************************************************

The Outlaw Star was shooting down a narrow tunnel made of light
traveling past at tremendus speeds.

"Jim, where are we?"

Gilliam responded. "I have no record of such a wormhole-type
entity in my databanks Gene. But we are accelerating."

"All systems report power fluxuations. Sub-Ether drive offline.
Munchausen reactors offline. Newton reactors two and three are
offline and one and four are failing. We have no power to stop."

"We are still accelerating. In thirty seconds the hull will
buckle from the stress."

"Jim, any ideas?"

The young boy shock his head. "No Gene, it looks like we're
gonna die."

Suddenly the cockpit lit up with another flash.

*****************************************************************

An urget, yet lifeless computer voice began it's taunt. A red
series of lights began flashing.

"Warning, Warning. Hyperspace field collapse. Fluxuations in
exit Gate Gamma031. Warning, Warning.

People were scrambling across the phones and frantically altering
settings on their computer monitors.

*****************************************************************

Spike was currently taking another drag on his cigarette.
Looking up through the window he could see the Hyperspace exit
gate.

He spit the butt on the floor when the gate went crazy. the
usual circle of light was seemingly sucked forward and out of
the gate before a medium sized ship spilled from the vortex.

Then the Gate field collapsed followed by several explosions
along the outer ring. the entire complex went dark.

Spike looked toward the ship. It was free-floating. <It must
have gotten disabled along with the gate. Wonder what the heck
kind of ship that is?>

Spike had never seen such a vessel. It lacked any quantifiable
propulsion system. The small turbines near the rear didn't
inspire a vision of speed. The only thing that would pass for a
main thruster was the strange spiked turbine on the rear.

It did look like some kind of a racing vessel. <Must have been
some prototype.> He thought to himself.

Spike took off to get Jet and Faye. They would want to see this
too.

*****************************************************************

As the lights came back on, Jim and Gene started assessing the
situation.

"Malfina, you alright?"

"Asia, Susuka, how about you two?"

"I'm fine Gene." Came the computer-filtered voice of Malfina.

Asia jumped out of her seat. "That was great!! Lets do it
again!"

Susuka just sipped her tea.

"Is anyone going to ask about me?" Asked Gilliam.

Gene sighed and put his hand across his face. "Sorry Gilliam.
How are you doing?"

The computer happily responded. "All drive systems offline.
Though the damage should be easily repaired. We are currently
unable to correct our heading or our vector. All attitude
thrusters are offline."

Gene sighed again. "Any good news?"

"Another vessel is hailing us. Strangly using old carrier
technology. Communications haven't been this barbaric in years."

"Stow the history lesson Gilliam and put them on screen if you
can."

The screen popped up a wild-eyed youth. "Hiya. Edward was
curious how protected your computer was..."

Said youth was forcably knocked away by an older man. "Sorry
about that. Ed was trying to hack your computer's database. I
am surprised she didn't get in. "Are you alright? Your ship
seems disabled."

Gene was staring at the man. He was currently wondering why his
cybernetics were visable. Possibly a man who was proud of it.
Wearing it like a battle scar.

"Uh, yeah. We are fine. But our ship is in need of some
repairs. Could you possibly tow us to Sentinal?"

Jet was confused. "Sentinal, never heard of it. Were you headed
there? Is it some new Spaceport on the other side of Jupiter?"

Now Gene was confused. "Juptier? Ok, where are we now?"

Jet laughed. "You just exited the Hyperspace gate at Gammamede.
You didn't know which gate you headed for?"

Gilliam interruped. "Gene. I believe I know what he is talking
about. Sensors confirm the Ring about thirteen kilometers away
as a early Hyperspace jumpgate. Also taking star chart
reference indicates we are within the Sol system. The original
system where humans existed."

"However if my sensors are correct, and I know they are, we
have traveled three hundred years in the past."

Jet paled. "Did your computer just say in the past?" Faye and
Spike were both stunned as they watched as well.

Ed jumped onto Jet's lap. "Ooooh. Computer that Ed want to
talk to, please let Ed in."

Malfina chimed in. "If you promise not to be bad."

Ed nodded, and Melfina spoke. "Access granted."

Ed dived back at her terminal. She began manipulating her
console.

Melfina began giggling. "Hello Edward. Can you help us?"

Edward squealed. "Edward can help. Edward can help."

Spike, Faye and Jet all sweatdropped.

Gilliam spoke up. "Systems are being rerouted. Thruster control
has been restored. We are being manuvered into docking sequence
with the 'Bee.. Bop' Time until complete...."

There was a suctioning noise as the seals pressurized between the
ships.

"Docking complete."

*****************************************************************

Spike was standing against the steps. Faye, Sasuka, and Asia
took up one seat while Melfina and Jim sat on the other. Edward
was sitting in malfina's lap.

Gene and Jet were both standing on the other side of the room.

Edward was busy playing with Melfina's hand. "You really a
computer?"

Melfina giggled again. "Yes I am Edward."

Faye was looking at Asia. "You a computer too?"

Asia leaped up, clenching her fists. "I am not a computer. I am
a Kitaro-Kitaro."

Jim spoke. "Calm down Asia. She is Princess Asia Clan-Clan of
the Kitaro-Kitaro. An alien race that humans meet in the future.
A very proud people."

Faye was stunned. "Ahh, sorry about that."

Asia sat down and smiled. "I accept your apology."

The girls began chatting about diffent things. Meanwhile, Jet
and Gene were conversing.

"So you were in a plantary system almost two-hundred light years
from here and you fell into hyperspace while engaging a onboard
hyperdrive?"

Gene nodded. "I can't think of a better way to put it. We hit
sub-ether just before getting pulled into the tunnel."

Spike walked over to the computer. He dialed up gate control.
"We were on our way to TJ for a little relaxation, but I wonder
when the gate will be fixed."

*****************************************************************

"Fixed? We are stuck out here for the next twelve years. Better
get used to Gammamede sea rat." The fat man on ther other end of
the screen was visably mad.

Gene was puzzled. "You mean you have to wait twelve years for
parts?

"Yes. Without the gate, the nearest repair supply will take that
long just to reach us." The man emphasized.

"Where are the supplies at?" asked Gene.

The man responded. "The ship will exit Hypergate Astor zero four
and make it's way here.

Gene smiled. Talking into his wrist device. "Gilliam. how are
repairs?"

The computer responded. "The reactors were in excellent shape.
They just needed to be de-gaussed and realigned. Most of the
damage seemed to be electromagnetic. Jim has located and
repaired it. We should be capable of Sub-Ether within hours."

Gene turned back to the fat man. "Can you send me the size
specifications on the parts you need. Maybe we can go get them."

The man pressed a few keys. Several diagrams cycled past. "I
don't know what good it would do you. It would take twice as
long for you to go get them. You'd be an old man."

Gene said. "Gilliam, you getting all this?"

"Yes Gene. We should be able to get all of this in our cargo
bay, if we remove our supplies."

Gene smiled again. "Gilliam, how long would it take to fly to
where that ship is at?"

"Seven hours at sub-ether Gene."

Gene turned back to the fat man. "Tell me. If I told you I
could have those parts on your back door in two days. What
would that be worth to you?"

"What, you crazy? No one carries stuff like that around here.
We already checked."

"I don't think you understand. I am going to pilot my ship to
meet yours at the gate there and bring the parts back."

"Like I said, that would take twice as long."

Gene turned toward Jet, then back. "I can do it in two days.
Better name a price."
