Having already replied to this in private and made a few edits, here's
the overall summary of my views:
"No, I could feel it," repeated Mina. "You know how we all have some
of the characteristics of our Sailor Scout forms even when we're not
transformed? Like, Amy's really smart, Lita's a good fighter, Raye's
got
a strong spirit, and you're really brave?"
[Shyeah...right. She does have a characteristic of her other form as
a
human but it isn't enhanced bravery. She's super-charismatic.
However
I think maybe Mina should say, "and you're...um...anyway we all have
some of the characteristics of our Sailor Scout forms.]
I may have been grasping at straws on that one. After a bit of
discussion, I decided simply to remove the reference to Sailor Moon
entirely, ending the sentence with "and Raye's got a strong spirit?" (I
mention this because I may refer to this exchange again in a future
chapter, and the revision will be important.)
thoughts were racing just as quickly. 'What was that thing?' she asked
herself again and again. 'Electronic, AND alive? That's impossible!
[Please. A guy with a pacemaker is electronic and alive. I have
trouble
with Jupiter not knowing what a cyborg is, but knowing what
telekinesis is.]
Mewtwo is not a cyborg, and I don't recall anything in the experiences
of the Sailor Scouts that would have told them what a cyborg is. As for
telekinesis, they've just been attacked by it... It's a bit like knowing
what basketball is but being unaware of the existence of baseball. As
for the pacemaker example, the pacemaker is not a part of the person; it
is a separate device that sustains his life processes. Likewise, the
Mercury computer was able to tell the difference between Mewtwo's armor
(purely electronic) and Mewtwo itself (a living being composed of
electronic data).
"Mewtwo saved my life," Lina informed him. "Whatever it is, it's
not
really evil. It just... doesn't really know what to do with itself."
Ranma chuckled inwardly. "Yeah, but it doesn't turn into a girl
when
it gets wet," he muttered.
[That was a pointless comment.]
Which is why Lina doesn't dignify it with a response in the story. Ranma
was comparing himself to Mewtwo in that he, also, doesn't really know
what to do with himself.
As always, I thank David for his response and welcome any others,
private or public.

Working on getting a new quote, actually... I'm getting tired of the
Pentasmal one.
