Instead of explaining the reality of the show, the American companies

decided to rape it, cut it up into tiny little pieces, and make everybody

think it's a Pokemon clone.  It's not.  

That's what I thought. Until I actually *sat down and watched it* (What? I 
was bored and heard the manga was done by CLAMP)

No, Sakura isn't going around capturing cards because she can, she does it 

because >Kero-chan tricked her into being a card captor, because he was 
sleeping on the job. >Instead of guarding the Clow Cards, he let Sakura 
accidently use Windy to blow all

of the Clow Cards out of the book into Japan.  I don't know if the dubbed
version explains that or not, because I'd rather castrate myself then
actually watch the dubbed show.

Oy.

In the dub, which rather then viewing as a rape and pillage of the original 
anime, I choose to view as *an alternate universe*, as I do with Sailor Moon 
and (but only when I'm really, really bored) Pokemon.

Anyways, in the dub, Kero appealed to her sense of responsibility. "You made 
this mess, now you gotta clean it up." And yes, the dub does make a running 
gag out of Kero sleeping on the job, an accusation that is vhemetly protested.

There is nothing wrong with (most) dubs. ADV and Pioneer are examples of 
companies who do an excellent job of translating Anime into english. I point 
to Trigun and the *orginal* dubbing of Tenchi Muyo as examples of the fine, 
fine work Pioneer has done. Don't get me started on the Cartoon Network 
Version. From what I hear, it makes me glad I don't have cable. I have, 
however, seen some of the new SM episodes and I really have only complaint; 
Please, Please, for the love of God. Loose the cheesey LSD composed 
disco-style transformation and attack music.

ADV, I'm told, is going downhill in terms of qaulity. I've seen no examples 
of this, but then again, I liked BGC2040, so maybe I'm just weird. =)
