In all, I'm going to have my work cut out for me. I've got a lot of
pointless droning to remove, because you don't even find out how SM
relates
until Chap 3. Also, there are some timeline disparities I need to clean
up
(hopefully with the help of kinds C&Cers :::wink wink nudge nudge::: In
the
American dubs, which is mostly what I went by, SM and CCS don't really
make
it clear when their back-stories took place, so I assumed from that that
they could be aligned.
Ok, for those whose only seen the dubbed CCS, then I pity you. If you're
curious, the first dubbed episode is actually episode 4(?) of the actual
series. The second dubbed episode is episode 8 or 12 of the actual series.
Instead of explaining the reality of the show, the American companies
decided to rape it, cut it up into tiny little pieces, and make everybody
think it's a Pokemon clone. It's not. No, Sakura isn't going around
capturing cards because she can, she does it because Kero-chan tricked her
into being a card captor, because he was sleeping on the job. Instead of
guarding the Clow Cards, he let Sakura accidently use Windy to blow all of
the Clow Cards out of the book into Japan. I don't know if the dubbed
version explains that or not, because I'd rather castrate myself then
actually watch the dubbed show.
CCS also takes place during 4th year elementary school, as Sakura and the
rest of her class are around 12 years old. Not too sure, as the Manga
translations don't explain the age, just the school year that they are in.
She releases the Clow Cards during the beginning of the school year, and the
entire time that everything happens in CCS happens during that school year.
At least in the manga, the anime is a different story, as they have
something like 54 or 56 Clow cards, while the manga only has like 7 to 13.
Don't know about dubbed SM, but basically everything happens during middle
school for the Inners (where they're 14-15 years old), except for the last
season where they finally enter High School (where they finally become 16
years old). The Outers are a bit tricky, especially Mamoru, as during both
Manga and Anime have different ages for them. Mamoru is a high schooler in
manga, and college student in Anime. Of course, I could be totally wrong
about this as well.
Don't know about the manga ages for Michiru and Haruka, but for the anime
they were in High School. Of course, after S, they don't go to school, so
I'm guessing private tutors, or that they graduated already, and they were
attending High School as a cover for S. Especially since in order to drive,
and I'm pretty sure, to do concerts, you need to have graduated High School
in Japan. Unless of course, you're obscenely rich, which they are, so I
don't know. Hotaru is somewhere like 10-12 years old, not too sure. And
Chibi-Usa is about 6-8 years old, as she's a couple years younger then
Hotaru.
Pluto is ANCIENT. She's the same Pluto from the Moon Kingdom, until S.
When she froze time, in the manga she died and was allowed to be reborn
during the present, so she is around 20-24 years old and is a nurse or a
doctor, I believe. Not too sure, but yes, she does have a real life, as she
was reborn quite awhile before Usagi and the rest. In the Anime, well, they
never mention what happened, or what her punishment was, just that something
bad was about to happen to her.
However, you can easily go on to Anipike.com and lookup info on CCS and SM,
that is if Anipike is still up. Don't know, never bothered to check. Of
course, you could probably find the scanned and translated CCS manga
somewhere, as the main project website for it is down. I'm pretty sure
somebody has it.
