No, you don't.

Making it clear that Ranma and Akane are supposed to be together will
kill it as quickly as making it clear that Ranma and ANC are supposed
to be together. So, if you want Ranma to stay with Akane, you have to
put all sorts of obstacles in that way, while still making it just a
BIT too much to believe that he'd end up with ANC.
