I informed the administration team of my decision last week, and am now 
making a public announcement to the list membership at large.  As the 
subject header implies, I am stepping down as a moderator on the FFML, and 
unsubscribing from the list.

I have increasingly come to realize over the last few months that I have 
come to lack the interest and energy in the FFML (and in anime fanfiction 
in general) that I feel is necessary to justify my position as a 
moderator.  Part of taking responsibility for something is knowing when it 
is time to abdicate that responsibility, and that time has come for me.

I have met many good people through the FFML, both before and after I took 
on the position of moderator in August of 1999, and these acquaintainces 
and friendships I will treasure after I have left the list.  I have also 
had my share of bumps since I became a moderator, which is inevitable with 
such a position.  Overall, however, I have had a very positive experience 
as a member and moderator of the FFML.
